  1. Hey, BFD. Everybody I know wants to kill A-Rod.
  2. Would that the same could be said about the "That's Logistics" commercial...
  3. I just hope we get a quality start from Lewis. Everything else should take care of itself. Of course, next to "if", "should" is one of the biggest words in the language... Oh yeah, I also hope that Cruz' hammie ain't too jacked. That guy is one to have.
  4. I'm kinda missing Molina behind the plate too...I know, older guy, day game after a night game, maybe Wilson couldn't have found his zone today no matter what, but still... Oh well, he should be fresh for Friday.
  5. THAT should be your new sig line. You have no idea how "championship mentality"-averse I am unless needed...that East Texas High School Football Hero Worship can do that to you if you ain't on the receiving end...
  6. The only upside I can see is that our offense didn't completely fold, and that with some halfway decent starting pitching by Wilson, the game would not be a total runaway. But you get a motherfucker who can't throw hard strikes to bats that have been lethargic, hell, what else can happen? Cliff Lee or not, I do not want a Game 7. Then again, if you're going to be a champion, you got to be able to take 'em the hard way...
  7. Back to Arlington...
  8. I don't see how you listen to a Jamal group through the course of a piece and hear the piano as the only focal point.
  9. I've always felt that the "Later" movement was a parody/dig at the Kenton school of "progressivism" as being practiced at the time. Straight-faced "random", loud dissonances with no intent or interest in anything resembling "jazz". Very wry, I think. I also wonder how Duke felt during his term at Capitol, a time when Kenton was being hyped by the label as the most important figure in modern jazz, the man who would propel it into the future & save it from obsolescence, an obsolescence of which Duke was implicity viewed as being a part of.
  10. Thomas Boddie never had aspirations to build another Motown, but the legacy left in his sealed-up studio is an important piece of musical history. http://www.theroot.com/views/tiny-record-empire-cleveland
  11. Have you seen the Yankees come back and win a series? Have you seen the Rangers come back and win a series? It ain't over until somebody wins four.
  12. Does that tune have a head? Nevertheless, the question was how many Tatum compositions can you name... even if he had written 20 or 30, I couldn't name any, so....ignorance wins again!
  13. Going To NYC - Any Teen Jazz Clubs?
  14. Still ain't nobody won four yet... look - the only "local" franchise success I've seen personally, in my lifetime, has been the Cowboys two reigns, and LORD have mercy I know how long that took (the first time - the Browns for years were to the Cowboys what the Yankees have been to the Rangers) & I've only really liked the Cowboys during the Jerry Jones years (and hated them during the Landry years!) I know how quick it can all fall apart, how "looking like you're going to win it" and actually winning it have absolutely no relation to each other. These Rangers are a great bunch to watch, great team to root for, I mean, you gotta love 'em if you know 'em, but the same could be said of the Mavericks of 10 or so years ago, and we've all seen how that's turned out...at this point, fuck the Mavericks, ya' know? The Yankees can win three in a row, even one against Lee (who last time I looked has lost a game or two...). The Rangers should be able to win one out of three. But that's a lot of probabilities and zero certainties. As somebody who's pretty much had a lifetime of not being a "natural" fan of championship teams, I ain't believing nothing until I see it already done.
  15. "Better team so far" means nothing, really. Hell, nobody's even won three yet...
  16. C'mon man, these are still the Yankees, they have proven that they can come back from adversity and still win a series. The Rangers have yet to consistently prove that their bullpen can hold a lead. Champions are still champions until proven otherwise. Challengers remain challengers until proven otherwise. Nobody's won four games yet, have they?
  17. Came up just a teeeeeeeeensy bit short, eh?
  18. Ain't no slack-jawed yokel as slack-jawed yokelly as a New York City slack-jawed yokel...
  19. I don't know about not getting to a Game 7, but the rest of this makes a lot of sense to me. Tommy Hunter, now it's really gut-check time.
  20. None. Do I win? It's an honest answer!
  21. Cooler than not having it at all!
  22. I find it a bit odd that there's no address info in that label.
  23. Indeed it does. Especially after some Hot Coke...
  24. There's some great boots of the Aghartha/Pangea band too...on a good night, that band scorched all it touched. An asbestos box, perhaps?
