  1. Budd Johnson was a player!
  2. I like the Rivers/Priester myself. They use the electronics in an organic fashion, I think.
  3. It was on a Masters Of Jazz CD, and has been aired by Phil Schapp. As far as I know, details are a stated. Fairly recently discovery, I believe, so a 20 year old discography would not list it.
  4. Wow. The Google link opens directly to the article, but the exact link away from Google doesn't. How does that work?
  5. Hmmm...I went there straight from this Google link: http://publications.mediapost.com/index.cf...p;art_aid=20524
  6. http://publications.mediapost.com/index.cf...p;art_aid=20524 I was clearing out a few PMs and came across one from this guy waaaay back in the day. I agreed to talk, but never heard anything back from him. Seems like he had more pressing matters to deal with, which I understand. But I was curious if he ever wrote anything. Sure enough, he did. Check it out, and relive the angst!

  8. No prob. Jim. We know you have a soft spot for the Bastards! Well, yeah, and they also get all these weirdass things that nobody else commonly has, like those Spanish BN things that were only supposed to be for European Coffee Magazine Book Subscribers or whatever the hell that was. I see Japanese CDs for $12.99, w/a fair # that aren't available singularly in the domestic market, and I'm thinking it's the same type deal, probably some special series for registered Shibuya-kei enthusiasts or some such that "we" weren't supposed to be able to get. Had no idea that it was a "general release" type thing, not at those prices. But hey - no matter where you get it, the opportunity to get in surely good sound for under $13.00, hey... Life is good!
  9. It's Link (Clarence Williams III) from Mod Squad. Irrelevant Jazz Connection -the blond is Peggy Lipton, the former Mrs. Quincy Jones.
  10. Hey, I had no idea that Amazon was offering these (and at 50 cents less to boot!). Go there when possible and give the O-Board the buckages. My bad, mea culpa, and skoo skoochee.
  11. But did or didn't you swallow René Kohler? Mr. Howell claims he didn't, but I think he just doesn't want to blow his cover any more than he already has.
  12. http://www.dustygroove.com/browse.php?kwfi...1&incl_cs=1 Not everything on this page is $12.99 (or a CD), but all you gotta do is pay attention.
  13. Things have been good. You still practicing?
  14. Like Danner.
  15. Wishing you...
  16. An unconsious admission that he's fighting to do something that does not come natural to him?
  17. Seperated at birth?
  18. A lost art indeed!
  19. On a clear day, you still can't see New York...
