  1. Antonio Spell - The Awakened Bee Returns!!!
  2. That's a terrifying cover.
  3. Here's hoping for a reissue of that one from Harvest Song via Mapleshade! Also...listed in the roster of singers on this new one is Muriel Winston, referred to as a professional singer. I have her Strata-East record (no great, but interesting songs at least). So what is HER story,?
  4. The tire and his ego both.
  5. I don't know why I was expecting more...
  6. One of those records where everybody's in the groove except for the leader. Hate it when that happens.
  7. Sorry, I meant that Harvest Song is using the SE "system", not the actual catalog #s. They would have reissued GBG in 2006, and released this new one in 2022. Which leads to the question... where had they been releasing it prior to partnering with Mapleshade? Via newsletter or something? Anywhere? Maybe they had everything except distribution in 2022? And what about In the World? Do tapes for that one still exist? Is the P-Vine CD of that a needle-drop?
  8. L. X. "Plips" Plepper - Plips Flips - Recorded Live at Mama Rotten's Rott House!!!
  9. This is ©2022 Harvest Song Records, with a catalog #2022-1, which old folks will recognize as the Strata-East numbering system. The only other HS release +at least in Discogs) is 2006-1: So I'm thinking that this is a Sandy Jordan label, and that she is partnering in some fashion with Mapleshade? So .. what about In The World... possible?
  10. Ordering directly from Mapleshade might be the surest bet price wise
  11. Did the dog piss on the carpet up there?
  12. Thank the DJs, the crate diggers, and Brandee Younger for that!
  13. Album covers or not, any Pete Turner photograph works for me.
  14. Right. In Goldberg's book (1963?), it was mentioned in the past tense.
  15. And her own Consuela Lee.
  16. Did they correct it, or does it still stand? It was on Twitter, right?
  17. Very unassuming, but also very high-level. Drums are only a sometimes thing and very quiet when there. Other than her participation in The Descendants of Mike and Phoebe, this appears to have been her only recording. That's unfortunate. Her back story is really interesting too and explains the low profile. She had other things on her mind: https://www.workers.org/2010/us/consuela_lee_0114/ There's a lot of music in her playing. Highly recommended, especially if you don't mind not being beaten over the head with musical appeals to adrenaline rushes.
  18. Absurdly incompetent. Has it been corrected yet?
  19. The Rosicrucian thing was mentioned as far back as Joe Goldberg's Jazz Masters Of The 50s!!!
  20. The Mike Maul Family Band- Up Front & Ready!!!
  21. This is a quietly major record, imo. More attention is merited!!!
