  3. That pretty much says it all, probably. Those type of people are always good to see.
  4. whoa, thanks for shining some light on this, totally unknown to me...checked out a few YouTube clips that Milton Suggs posted and then found a copy at DG. It's on the way! What is the story on Luba Raushiek? That's a new name for me.
  5. It's never a bad thing when he lets his Hank Crawford roots run free.

  7. Can't find the Clarke-Boland records, help? Did find the Vibraphone Jazz Quartet record to be of interest, although, don't think about it too hard in terms of where it's come from or where it wants to take you, it's one of those enjoy it while it plays and then forget it ever happened, which I guess is the intent, right?
  8. I very seldom reach for Sanborn, but when I do, I know enough to know what the better stuff is, and that one definitely qualifies. Have you done Pearls? Totally different bag than Voyeur, it's standards (mostly) with strings, but you'd be hard pressed to find any bad choices being made by anybody involved.

  10. Congrats! That Masters Of Jazz series (that one, not all the others) was a simply miraculous body of work. I missed most of them, but hey, again, congrats!
  11. This is a good record to have, trust me on this one. Play it between Eddie Gale Blue Notes.
  12. It's time to stop buying music and to start buying comedy and spoken words records. Diversify that portfolio! look, it's MONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it's authorized, so you know that the right people got paid.

  14. No shipping notice, it just showed up on the porch. I hope the sound is as noticeably improved as people are saying, otherwise I've wasted my money. I expect to be moved to another dimension, so....

  16. I have Southern Horizons & Free Form on Jazzland LPs, both pulled out of cutout bins ca. 1972. Don't know that I've seen either since, so...
  17. Internet lapdances to the rescue! https://slangit.com/meaning/dunk_on Don't ask me how I found that, just ask what took me so damn long to do it.
  18. Or dunking, is that the thing that results in the spilling of the tea? In which case, serves you right for dunking with tea, what kind of a culturally malformed notion is that? Almost as bad as chocolate and peanut butter, or salt and watermelon, or cream gravy and haggis.

  22. Duncan? Kudos to Betty White!
  23. "dunking on a dj"? Now it's my turn to be culturally illiterate, what does that mean? Yeah, my money's on "maybe none of that". Besides, kudos to the person who played it. Major fuckyous to the idiot who asked "how did you find that?" How do you find anything, and is it really harder with the internet giving lapdances to everybody? People without a natural curiosity deserve what they don't know.
  24. No idea, but it certainly came to mind when that record came out Or maybe it was inspired by McLuhan. Again, I don't know Or maybe it was a completely independent observation..ore than one person can reach similar conclusions independently.
