  4. He does, very much, but I would be ready to reprogram the order...interrupting the Moodyflow may or may not work for you. I know I was all, uhhhhh….. about it.
  5. Small sample size for me to be saying this, but Bartok seems to have been a helluva piano player, at least when playing his own stuff.
  6. Having a hard time moving past Disc 1 - Duets with Bartok, then a trio w/Benny Goodman added, all kinds of good 20th Century stuff. Even if the disc ends with Mozart, what comes before keep me replaying the whole thing. Regardless of what one thinks about Benny Goodman...playing with both Fletcher Henderson & Bela Bartok...being John Hammond's brother-in-law is only going to get you so far into those Columbia(n) doors, right?. Objectively, I think this is worth being noted. Objectively, hey, be objective about it! Just sayin', if I had a chance to jam (sic) with Bela Bartok on his tunes (sic)...how would you not get in there with that?

  8. The Metaphorical Gum Wrapper - Foil & Paper, All for The Pauper My copy is Quad, which you would think would be great for an alleged proto-psychedelic-folk record, but it's really just a big mess of jumble. Which leads me to wonder if the issue is not the Quad at all, maybe it's just that the band sucks? I don't know, this is not my specialty, so...thoughts from people more naturally aligned to this type of music are welcome.

  10. Except that...there's some organ trio cuts on there without Moody, right? I got excited because I thought that all the extra material had Moody, but it doesn't. I's Never Again with some extra organ trio cuts. Here's the Never Again set: Tracklist Never Again 4:27 Secret Love 6:33 A Little 3 For L.C. 8:40 St. Thomas 6:01 This One's For You 5:13 Freedom Jazz Dance 8:37 Now, here the Hip Organ Trio set: Tracklist 1 Never Again 2 My Secret Love 3 A Little 3 For LC 4 Right On (organ trio only) 5 Down St. Thomes Way 6 All The Things You Are (organ trio only) 7 This One's For You 8 Freedom Jazz Dance 9 Giant Steps (organ trio only)

  12. Oh, that. Already have it, then.
  13. Here's the who, they what, and the why of it all, right here:
  14. He's in peak form on James Moody's Never Again and something else called The Hip Organ Trio, Newark stuff on Muse, pre-Dexter.
  15. Herbert/Herbie Morgan might take some doing, but the relatively few records he's one are all gems. Ed/Eddie Gladden is all over the place, or was once he started getting the profile from the Dexter gig. You can follow his trail with confidence and no a lot of difficulty. Truly, a truly great drummer. Enjoy!
  16. so this is NOT new material then?
  17. He should have consulted with his PCP first.
  18. Opening the lid on this big boy, gonna be here a while... All the hits...PLUS!
  19. My PCP has one that he will recommend if asked. Apparently, although the guidelines for chiropractic medicine are "looser" than they are for other disiplines, there's still some value in the services rendered by a skilled and ethical practitioner. I would definitely not do a walk-in, but with a referral from my PCP, with whom I have an implicit trust, yes, I would. Might still yet.
  20. Sorry, but the "package" is not really what I want out of this, nor the 45s, nor the other frills. Would gladly play a fair price "new" music with basic-but-nice packaging and good annotation.
  21. Betty Walker Ceil Seal
  22. Sam Woodyard was from Boston!!!! but no...
  23. Not QUITE as short a game, but still, hardly Egyptian!
  24. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster. DUDE, look at this record, it sure LOOKS like it's gonna sound good...ok, $3,050, but that's as high as I'm gonna go.
  25. And if you play Paul Desmond backwards, you get "well, sure, NOW I am".
