So, no rules broken, then? Football game legally played in mud, correct?
-
How is that any better or worse than what groundskeepers do at baseball stadiums? For that matter, how would a soggy-ish field slow one team down but not the other? That kind of thing doesn't sound like a "trick" to me nearly as much as it does simple tactical maneuvering. Was it against any rule in any way?

You're not going to get people to not fuck. More than enough of all types of evidence of that. Hell, getting dudes just to wear a condom is still a work in progress, it seems. But "contract tracing", isn't that what they do (or used to do with syphilis? We have a model, it just needs to be built to scale and brought up-t0o-date in terms of tech. Although it will take time and money, it seems that the "private sector" already has a lot of the pieces in place, including the data. Lovin' those cell phones! -
I'm having a really good time listening to this record.

Chet Baker Estate Records CD Offer

I've seen some versions of that The 50's side that list Clifford Brown as also playing on "Tea For two", but only some versions. We'll see! -
I really liked Sonny Cox' records. RIP

Those are all good records, but none are anything I'd agitate for if a good friend didn't already have them, excpet maybe the Ella, and then only if there was already othr stuff there already. Probably the same thing with Lawrence Of Newark, yes it needs to be heard and should not be forgotten, but since the focus here seem to be things recorded in the 70s, not necessarily released then (apologies if I'm getting that wrong?)... Hey, dig this: They was afraid that they was gonna be levitated!!!!!!!

Putting in a plug for Tommy here, hanging in there during these "unusual" circumstances and not missing a bewat. Kudos for that! Plus, these are damn good prices, compare elsewhere for proof. I have ordered three of these and would like to call them out b/c they are a bit "unusual" in a totally good way: 1225 - Chet Baker - Live at Gaetano's - Phil Urso + Dave McKay/Chuck Domanico, interesting LA rhythm section that was on the cusp of moving a little "out" elsewhere, eager to hear how much (if any) of that shows up here. 1223 - Chet Baker - Live at the Renaissance II - SAL NISTICO!!!! Lorne Lofsky too! but - SAL NISTICO!!!!!!!!! 1227 Chet Baker - The 50's - seems to be this, check it out: Looking forward to hearing all of these. -
What is Jon Batiste up to that is Pulitzer-worthy? I only know him from Treme, Colbert, and the random thing or two that seem to sound more "feel-good-y" than actually felt good (t me, anyway). Is he up to something big? Oh, I see, he's on the jury, not a recipient. Never mind, I guess?

Were his steaks really that good? Where would I go to get one, once it becomes practical to do so?

Oooooooo…..I don't know about that.....in theory anyway, I could see, respect, and still totally disagree with people of principle who took the stance that the "pioneer spirit" (or some such thing) calls for us to bravely push ahead, that it's better to die on your feel than to live on your knees, that sort of thing, I totally get that. That does work, whether it be people coming out of Auschwitz , or off the plantation, or out of the rubble of Hiroshima, or up from the basement or under the floodwaters, there's something to be said about the inherent honor of just not backing down, never giving up fuck it all, we are going to survive ANYTHING. That spirit is to be applauded, furthered, and embraced. Plus, yes, absolutely, people's livelihoods are at serious risk. And i do need a haircut. And my daughter does need to get back to the nail salon so she can start buying her own groceries again. So absolutely - people need to get back to work, But ow to do that, though...protection protection protection. Testing testing testing. Managing managing managing. Governing. Fear of government is legit enough, but refusal to be governed is, in this situation, some weird combination of death wish and sociopathy. We are not done seeing people die. That's kinda what happens in a pandemic, right? The question is - how do we get a handle on all of this, not to magically stop the dying (there's nothing magic about science and vaccines), but how do we have the least avoidable deaths and get the most people into a state of productivity while we do so? Nothing at all intrinsically "political" about that. It should be an honest, gut-wrenching examination of debating principles based around neither medical not economic superstitions. It's damn hard choice with no good answer. Principle, not superstition, and definitely not the clownshow of persuasion through identity rape that is the devolved politics of today. One of the many degradations of politics today is the notion that there is only one good choice. Nobody wants to admit that sometimes there are only bad choices. Nobody, it seems, is willing to make a bad choice and wear the humility of admitting that sometimes the best option is still a bad one. THAT'S politics, the deceit of getting people to go along with you in the lie that they're all good choices. So - none of those politics here. We can debate principles out the ass, and we can give credit to peoples' gut instincts and driving principles w/o thinking that they've been brainwashed by certain types of media. And we can still joke. Or maybe we can't. -

If I had a landscaping/groundskeeping-maintanence business right now, I'd be looking at pivoting to cemetery maintenance. It's gonna be a growth market, nowhere to go but up (or in, as the case may be?), and as they say, they're not making any more land! Plus - one day you will be able to work from home. Win-win, right? Remember - If life was fair, the impact would be perfectly borne by precisely those who aren't taking COVID-19 seriously enough. But, you know, life being fair, I mean, c'mon, when was the last time THAT happened? -
I would really like to hear this. I quite enjoyed both X and Tania - although in neither case, immediately or even almost immediately. I took a while to get "familiar" with both of them musically. But once the door cracked open, it didn't blow back shut, quite the opposite. Tania in particular...what a trip! Oh, Amistad - just ordered it. Have heard nothing about it, maybe it sucks? But oh well, lots of interesting music sucks!

A delightfully bipartisan look at leaders in government who actually believe in government: The front-line coronavirus leaders https://www.axios.com/coronavirus-state-local-leaders-7887ab1d-eb43-4243-8e39-1e4cb5974d85.html It's more than a philosophy, it's an actual skill set. -

Actually, it's been the most predictable element of all this for me. Totally predictable. Regardless of ideologies left/middle/right - Government itself is a non-translatable skill set, and not everybody has it. Not talking "politics" here, b/c you can see evidence of "getting it" across the party spectrum. But people who don't believe in government should keep the fuck out of government, period, just like people who don't believe in love should stay the fuck out of family. Go do your thing somewhere else, ok? Plenty of other outlets. -

Can't speak for any other places, but in these parts (such as I've seen them), there's been a rather noticeable...inconsistency in how social distancing is being practiced among the general population. -
I'm thinking that anything contractual, if it's archived at all on the corporate level, is going to be best found through legal. Now, maybe, were there any "family archives"? If so, then. But does that seem likely here, at this point in time?
