  4. i got at same time this buddy tate + his buddies lp on chiaroscuro records. ive never heard of this label but i looked them up and they are still going and are a very established label, i guess (!?>) anywas this lp is good too its weird hearing buddy tate play modal
  5. i hope to oneday walk into a supermarket and see a rack of crown cds
  6. theres other arnett items which utilize this same title, i know. the one im talking about was issued sometime in 1989 or soon thereafter i guess, although it appears on looking at the whole thing to appear to be more vintage than that. (it mentions in the notes arnetts death in 1989) ok when i bought this, i was NEEEEEEVER expecting it to be a FUNK date. but thats what it is. song #1 so far its been the flat out FUNK, now its mutating into some kind of bossa-funk jam. i had no idea arnett would ever be into this. the label address is a po box in Houston TX. the notes mention arnett liked to chill at home and jam after comming off the road, and this session is from one of those times. from 1971. the 1st song is called "Medussa", the one im freaking out about. song #2 is now a ballad. later on the session he will cover "doxy" oh my god song #4 "bobbys blues" is the straight-up FUNK again, omggggg, arnett is killin it: 1970s style :excited: you GOTTA believe me i had NO clue this was going to be like this
  7. i thought for some reason FOR SOME REASON...........orig. saturn lps were gonna sound 'lo-fi'..............i got a copy of OMNIVERSE...................boy was I wrong. OMG.
  8. yessssss................................................................ive gotten crown lps which seem to have, lets just say, nicer condition vinyl than others.....................to answer your question i guess all the stuff has moved over to england, how- i dont know. but someday when i visit crown headquarters in LA ill be able to give you more info on its current state
  9. whoa song three is phat, its called; i got a big fat mama. someones rocking the organ on it on song 4 you can hear the tape speedng up to play speed for a sec at the beginning of the track.......aweeeeeseome~!
  10. http://www.vinylsearcher.com/largeImages/19400280.jpg !!!??? shuggie otis on guitar and bass, it says. vocals: roy milton. larry reed- piano, drums and piano - johnny otis. but then why is roy milton playing drumso on the cover, thats him, the same guys portrait pics on the back. so this isnt a vintage session, right, but a late 60s, 70s? vol 10 is: "AMOS MILBURNE"....(thats how its spelled)....so i guess it all cant be new stuff, it says copywright 1977 ALA ENTERPRISES, 4218 jefferson blvd- Los Angeles...ooo let me googlemap it....

  16. dude mine is cooler than both of those, mine is like beautiful italian stained glass window!
  17. they must of really done the lps on-the-cheap back then at that label cause that chick, IS NOT HOT. why didnt they get the chick w/ all the hair, you know, from the Liberty coves, the Liberty Martin Denny covers. did they just ask Ruth in accounting if she wanted to make a quick buck afterwork. U/A could of tried a little better, afterall, they got HANK MOBLEY on the lp session......... Hank Mobley.-- you would think they would of tried to get a chick a littttttttttttle hotter: IF I WAS THE HEAD OF UNITED ARTISTS JAZZ DIVISION, I WOULD OF REJECTED THIS COVER. I WOULD OF WROTE A MEMO THAT SAID: RE-SHOOT COVER WITH HOTTER CHICK. ALSO CHANGE ALBUM TITLE FROM CURTIS FULLER- SLIDIN' EASY, TO: HANK MOBLEY AND HIS NEW-ALLSTARS, FEATURING CURTIS FULLER

  19. hi readyrudy, amazing story. are these tapes the open-reel type? is any info written on the boxes? um hey readyrudy i have another question a few hrs later now.......did Duke Pearson did pop music did he listen to the happening sounds. or was the just jazz all-the-way, all-the time? if so what specifically did he like to listen to and such

  22. so wait so the 45s were not made by Playstlite but by AUDIOMATRIX, as that stamp only appears on the early 45s? so playstliste didnt cut 45s?
