while im at it re: the bird side, he has Dizzy Atmosphere listed as billy bergs 1-24-46, clearly there is vibes present on the cut, however the bird disog. just lists "salt Peanuts for that date..."?????? -

RICH-AX-120 side 1 is bird w/ machito b'cast, bird @ billy berg, and bird/diz carnegie hall 1947 side 2 is where i have a question: its written in by the previous owner as "birdland 1959" but i cant seem to find that listing in any warne discogs.....the tunes are: thing called love/sub conciouss/32nd set E/out of nowhere/background/all of me IS THIS TRULY FROM BIRDLAND 59? if so is the exact date known?

can somebody PLEASE explain to me what the hell the library of congress is? how come items are being "discovered" there? is it like a giant thrift store with all the records disorganized and uncatagorized and stuff? how do you make an l.o.c discovery? and why does the governement have the art blakey 59 tape anyway, was it for some government sponsored broadcast. i had thought it was just a private tape recorded at the fest and traded among elitist bearded jazz fans---until this is released it is my #1 beef with the US gov't. so can anyone just go and listen to it, or do you need some sort of governemnt library card/resarch licence?? -
they should do a live episode of that show in july when genesis play on ancient site known as circus maximus

ment to put this here-- ok i read the article, and have some questions: WHY IS THE LIB. OF CONGRESS SO DISORGANIZED? why do we always hear about people finding, discovering stuff in the l.o.c. archives-- is every item not on a catelogue or file? they just found this 16 in transcription disc just lyin in a shitpile like at ones favorite antique or record thrift store? -

so 10 or 20 k is all u need to pay in order to hear this rare prez record? thats less than a godamn SUV for crying out loud- someone can pony that dough up for PREZ of all people--- but now u guys didnt list the exact discographical info for the claimed sessions? is the session info avaiable at this time? -
it was so bizzare: it was this drum battle, linoel hampton, gene krupa, and CHICO, and they are all soloing and stuff, then this giant curtian falls down and there a big band in back of them-- it completely blew my mind then i saw this clip of bobby cooper, hampton hawes, ray brown and shelly manne live at the manne hole--- it was probably the greatest west coast jazz ive ever seen on video

nononono no mobley- but i am ASTONISHED to see a KING record in this kind of condition-- isnt it true that unlike w/ blue note, whereas some collectors, or just astute jazz fans even back then, would buy em and take care of em and stuff- but with KING, these records were purchaed by the most urban of urban blacks and working class folk, etc-- and every other KING record i have it either stained with 50 yr. old BBQ sauce, blood or vomit, or completely scratched to complete pieces (but they still play great!)

the vinyl is thick, like old king vinyl, flat edge, inscription on side a reads- KSD-12-531-A and ditto, excpet B for side be, etc little "R" mark, or so it looks like as well (a la the RVG stamp on blue notes) on label its 531 on cover its 395-531 IS THIS A REISSUE??? BECAUSE IT ONLY COST 3 BIG ONES AND IT IS MINT- THE COVER IS A+ AND THE VINYL IS, OH, A. AND I DONT HARDLY BELIEVE IT CAUSE EVERY KING RECORD IVE EVER SEEN, BE IT 45, LP, OR EVEN 78- IS COMPELETLY MANGLED. BUT THIS ONES REALLY CLEAN? COULD IT REALLY BE LEGIT??????
