  2. pacific jazz records had balls and they made all kinds of great w.c.j: from flute n oboe to bebop quartet to big band all the way to jazz-pop and even prototypical jazz-rock albums. the best of which is gerald wilson/equinox.

THE GRIND PART 1 THE GRIND PART 2 (sounds studio, but im not sure) ACROSS TOWN (sounds live) --- O'Oclock jump (takes up like 90% of side two, live) and then the garner piece is i believe the last one, a solo piano piece, short- its called LITTLE GIRL is the exact concert date/location/personel known for this? i know its west coast jazz but i need to know more!
  4. everybody knows the jody grind was remastered from an lp source, not the original rvg master tape- this is because it was lost or stolen from the capitol temp-controlled archive room or perhaps even earlier during the liberty era. this also happened w/ sweet honey bee. do you think itll ever suface on ebay? how much would u pay for that!
  5. the ultimate jimmy smith moment was when he stopped his solo, shut the hammond off- told the jazz club management to fuck themselves, then pulled his pants down- i will never forget it as long as i live
  6. today @ the record store some guy was talking to the cashier about records and he was all i haveso and so in mono and this and that 1st pressing and i was all: "oooo! guess what i just got? A first-edition-pressing of SHUT THE HELL UP!!" lol it was so funny

(late 50s- capitol records, - strings+wordless vocal choir- it is an amazing album everyone should have in their collection- the album sounds like, like, if u rubbed a copy of A new Perspective all over yourself, thats what this album sounds like ALSO FROUND FEW DAYS AGO: a MINT condition cover (+ ok condition lp) of LONESOME ECHO with art by SALVOADOR DALI! has anyone ever seen or owned this lp? i would like to know if its mono or stereo it doesn't say- IF the catalog # begins w/ a letter "W" is it mono or stereo?
