i started this thread at the "back room" please import your comments from there to here! if you could only have 1 cd per artist (leader) in your collection which one would it be? Double albums are o.k. but NO box sets, mosaics etc.! I'll start with what i think is the BEST Monk cd out there:

the thing that really bugs me is that i was really looking forward to the fact that brian plays piccolo basses on this cd. and it turns out to be "smooth jazz" and not even that good spyro gyra stuff either!

now if only you can stop the infernal "it's a small world after all"!!
