Ibrahimovic has joined AC Milan, guess that with David Villa Barça didn't need him anymore , with no Henry either wonder who will be brought in as it gets thinner on offense for them, rumours are that Robinho may leavr city to join the Catalan club. Didn't see the game but proof that Tottenham may have a hard time handling both competitions as they lost a game they should have won yesterday -

Lorient's attackers had a field day with Lyon central defence and another upset witnessed by yours truly as Gourcuff debut took a backseat to the very poor start of his new team. -

Maybe not as glamorius but they are some fine matchups, too bad, can't see any of the action of this competition. Tv rights being owned by a network that my cable distributor does not offer. If the Super Cur was not that Super the football event of the day was Kaiserslautern winning their first game in 25 matches against Bayern Munich, they played agressively, physically their players going after the ball like a dog after a bit of meat on a bone. My picks of game to watch this weekend Saturday Lorient-Lyon For Gourcuff's debut with Lyon Sunday Hoffenheim-St Paul, Don't laugh they are actually the two leading teams after 1 game, Hoffenheim did a number on Bremen last week Barcelona_Racing David Villa's debut with Barça Real Madrid-Mallorca The genius with his new team -

Group G is a real death group. I do agree but my little finger tells me that the group will offer the most compelling action . it will make up for some groups that offers on paper little interest , thinking of the group D and H and on a lesser level E unless Basel and Cluj (?) create a suprise. By the way La Liga and Serie A are starting their championships this weekend, plenty of action on the telly. Also Super Cup today. -

Ouch Auxerre got a raw deal, EPL teams look to have an easy draw except for Tottenham. The A group sure looks like the most intriguing. -

A few entertaining games during the qualification stage of the Champions league, glad to see Bremen qualify in a game that had a few turnarounds. The shock of the day came from Braga who eliminated Seville in what seemed to look like a tremendous game. -

Arsenal-Blackpool was not much of a game, much interesting was Hamburg-Shalke 04, in his Bundesliga debut Raul was outstaged by his former Real Madrid teammate RVN who helped his team prevail by scoring two goals. -
They are days I feel like a dork buying and collecting all this music and they are other days I feel cool for doing it, it's one those days I felt that picking up this stuff was the most uplifting thing I did this week and I have the coolest hobby in the world.

Saw Matana Roberts doing her project Coin Coin part 1 with a band of more than 10 musicians, they played in a loft located in Montreal sound was not terrible which made it hard to appreciate the arrangements. on the other hand it's the first I watch a gig sitting in a rocking chair ! -
Not MLB but a hell of a catch anyway.

Saw The Movie Inception..
Van Basten II replied to randissimo's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
We talked about it the film thread, Check around the post 5565. Here's what I wrote the day after I saw the movie Saw Inception last night, since this is the kind of film that deserves to be seen knowing little as possible, before spoiling anything I'll just comment that the film deserves to be seen. Stop reading if you wanna see still remain a virgin regarding this film or only read it when you have seen it. If I had to resume the film using other ones it be a mix of Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (For the concept) of the Matrix (Visuals and what the movie tries to achieve ) and a bit of Blade Runner I am not sure however the film is as brilliant as it claims or the hype claims it to be. Yes it is challenging compared to most high profile films but it is more on the entertaining side than cerebral side. For starters as we got involved in the multi stages of the dream, it seemed that we kinda lost the purpose of the many plots and they filled it up with action sequences for the sake of it and what was going on inside those dreams didn't matter, weirdly the way it ended you could make of an argument than it did not matter. Other main weakness, the psychological developpement of the characters is as thin as most typical blockbusters, then again maybe the end explains their lack of depth. Among the positives the visuals are quite stunning , Dicaprio is quite convincing in his character, although you could make a case that it is a lot like the character he played in Shutter Island. Despite these misgivings as I mentionned at the start the movie is a fun ride just don't expect a film worthy of an Academy Award just a way above average summer blockbuster. -

On lighter news , in what was an entertaining game, newly promoted Caen upsetted Marseille during the first week of Ligue 1. Basically one team was hungry the other thought that their skill level would be enough. Quite a good game by the young El Arabi for the winning side. -
Agreed with CJ Ravi is a worthy musician, but considering the way they treat instrumentalists , not exactly sure what will happen, went to the music store and was pleasantly suprised that they put out this Maybe there is hope ?
