  1. Unless someone pulls out because of an injury, they will be some overtime on central court tonight, 3 games remaining and two involving men, you have conservatively at least 6 hours of tennis and a strong chance for a lot more.
  2. Young Oudin is about to eliminate Sharapova. Mary Carillo had a great line, you can't double fault more than the age of your opponent. Oudin is 17 , Sharapova has so far 19 double faults.
  3. Both favourites hold on none without some difficulties.
  4. Bizarro world ends at least temporarly as Federer wins the second set and Djokovic breaks twice his opponent
  5. The Djoker is in trouble also !!!
  6. Upset brewing, Federer is missing badly easy shots and on the verge of losing the first set
  7. Omar Sheika Glen Catley Eric Lucas
  8. Looking at the schedule today, two games do stand out on the main court. Federer-Hewitt at 11 am and to cap off the night Blake-Robredo should provide some fireworks with a partisan crowd on hand. If you prefer good action to big names the Grandstand seems offering quality matchups especially Soderling-Querrey.
  9. So let me get this straight for those who have next to nothing and want the integral and the so-called "real thing". Not only you have to pick up the more expensive set, that would be ok, but you have to buy extra cds on the side to complete your collection. Screw the health care debate, where is the outrage for this kind of trickery. Going against what seems the grain, will buy the stereo version, i enjoy music not headaches.
  10. Can't say that this year edition has so far provided a lot of thrills, despite seeing little of it the Navarro-Dent is the one that excited me the most during the first week. Anyway, things should be picking up with hopefully favourites being tested a lot more.
  11. Was going to write the same thing, finally paid the price with Nadal getting the break.
  12. Michael Jordan Don Mattingly Ryne Sandberg
  13. Things are heating up ! Great shots by Kiefer who is about to take the second set.
  14. The Dent-Navarro was a bit like a fight with two heavyweights taking turns at each other. Not a great serve and volley fan, but in this context it was quite enjoyable. By the way, what the heck is Kiefer wearing on his knee ?
  15. Great reaction by Dent after winning the match.
  16. Good close game between Dent and Navarro.
  17. Steve Penney Brian Hayward Doug Soetaert
  18. Consider me among the confused, regardless of the sound, do we have the same tracks, no matter which one we buy one set or the other ?
  19. Rybarikova will hate herself when she'll review her match, she had her chances on Venus serve but was way too passive on break chances.
  20. Back to tennis after my outing last night. Crowd is rather quiet for the Venus match. Clisters just annihilated her opponent in one hour
  21. Saw Eric Truffaz with his quartet, a bit Bitchesbrewian at times, wish i brought my earplugs, quite loud at times. Truffaz is borderline a guilty pleasure, he and his group are far from being great technicians, can't say what they do is original , but i end up enjoying them anyway. Truffaz who enjoys coming to Montreal, finished the evening by giving us his love, with a rendition of Gainsbourg's Je t'aime moi non plus.
  22. Arrived only for the latter part of the third set, seemed to be a nice workout for Federer.
  23. Since good results involving fellow countrymen happen so few, quite happy to see Alexandra Wozniak actually beat a seeded player. Mauresmo from all the reports is not what she used to be but still good news from the native from my hometown who has already her best US Open ever in her third try. She will play next a hot player in Flavia Pennetta, ranked 10, let's hope i read properly the info.
  24. Are you sure you meant Gulbis? He was ranked 53 last August, while Murray was ranked 4. That would make more sense. Checking the USOpen site to check out the info. Ok now i see , i misread the date for the rankings http://www.usopen.org/en_US/players/overview/atpg858.html Under the line high rank date for singles, i thought they meant the rank 4 for august 2008, when they meant he obtained his best ranking august the 4th. Doh !
  25. Yeah, ultimately Murray was able to get back on track and defeat Gulbis in straights. Didn't see a story on this. What happened? Gulbis was ranked number 4 last august, how did he do that, informatic piracy ? Trying to dig out results that make him go up to that ranking. Regarding the match , it was a typical game between a great and a good player. Good player gives all he can handle at the beginning but fails to capitalize and then his game becomes more erratic, great player has an easier time. Bad choice of words, was eliminated in three sets in the first round, saw the third set tie-breaker, she so does not look like a former number 1 player right now
