  1. By the way, thanks for the link, never think of listening to webcasts.
  2. Yep, also the choice of the tune is a good example, they play a lot of pop covers, they once played Ruby Tuesday and Fernando (yep the Abba song)
  3. I've enjoyed the Capitol Sessions for that reason, was a bit all over the place. Gotta say i'm not a bit musicologist, so i have a thing for listening miscelaneous music instead of going after one constant body of work.
  4. Listened to the two last tunes. Enjoyed it, like Bernstein better with Sex Mob though. Maybe should listen to the whole show, can we access a replay.

  15. For those who were waiting to receive a confirmation to join in. It took time but i received mine a few days ago, maybe it's the same case for those who had not yet received an answer.
  16. Jazz season is now over The big jazz fest ended well with Garcia-Fons quartet which was not as spectacular he was last year but gained in tightness and control. His residence was one of the finest that i had the pleasure to witness here. Greg Osby and his sextet offered their brand of modern jazz, none of his sidemen tore the roof down , of course we had the almost obligatory MJ song, this time it was Ben who was covered. My top three moments of the jazz fest will be 1 Ornette Coleman quartet 2 Brian Blade Fellowship 3 Renaud Garcia-Fons series Well, now my summer holidays are over and the jazz prestations will be scarce . I do know we have the Vandermark 5 coming in august but that's about it.
  17. I agree completely, but you always knew you were going to see a hell of a fight when Gatti got in the ring. He was involved in more FOTY than any other fighter.
  18. They were plenty at the Montreal Jazz fest, pianist Juli Lamontagne offered a re-arrangement of Billie Jean, during Ornette Coleman's gig, his electric bassist played the main riff of beat it and last night Greg Osby and his sextet played their version of Ben.
  19. Steve McNair Alexis Arguello Arturo Gatti
  20. Gatti's name is mispelled in the title, Gatti had a bit of a dark side but for fans and media, he was gold, RIP. http://www.thestar.com/News/article/664796

  23. The guy had a loaded deck against him but kept on raising the stakes and he basically lost at the game of life.
