Doesn't matter to me when or for what Wayne gets a Grammy, just that he deserves it!

Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Am I the only one who hasn't gotten their's yet?
Nope, no sign of mine either, and the credit card was charged some time back.

I have that Avid comp. I like the comparison to Hackett, because Green had such lovely tone.

Just saw "The Whale." Brendan Fraser is amazing in it. Going to see "Corsage" tomorrow.

Some of you are way ahead of me. I have 222 cds plus 47 lps. Maybe four or five Columbia and Victor 78s. So, 269 total, but like Lon says, there are so many more. A complete Mercer set would be nice. Those sides are scattered across several (now pretty expensive) Classics cds.

First time a colour image on the cover, it isn't?
I noticed that too. Will wonders never cease? Pre-ordered.

Kenton donated his materials to the University of North Texas. You might correspond with them to see if anything is available, but "Kenton Wagner" is one of his most obscure records, and one of only three for Capitol that I know of that has never been reissued on cd (the others, I think, are "Hair" and "Plays for Today," though I may be missing some).

That book was a scream, I remember reading it when it was published.
I gave up trying to buy a copy of the Teddy Reig book and got it from the library. It is a fun read! One question: how was/is his last name pronounced? "Reeg" "Rige" "Rague"??

Dan may well be on the committee but I am sure he cannot say so.
That does not guarantee he will know. I doubt Wayne Shorter knows how he became a Jazz Master exactly, just that someone nominated him.
True, though I bet Morganstern has nominated a few.

I sent an email to Dan Morgenstern asking how such a nomination could/should be made. Dan should know.
Well, yes he should, since he was one in 2007!!

Yes, well, for whatever reason, if she comes back to Portland, I hope she offers some performances here!

Saw The Menu yesterday. Not for every "taste," but I thought it was (darkly) very funny.

I posted in this topic back in May, but I've managed to find both sets since then, and I was listening to disc 5 of the Brown set when I saw this thread had popped up again! They're both fun sets.

I almost went for that JiP CD set when I saw it at the old J&R Music in NYC years ago but alas the baggage allowance ruled it out. Maybe just as well - that thing almost needs its own room !
I got it in Paris way back in 2002 when the euro was at around 78 cents to the dollar. Bringing it back was definitely a challenge! The JIPs do indeed occupy their own space!

A look at dicogs.com or completed items on eBay will be informative.
Between $350 and $500. It's a valuable set.
