You should keep them. All those Japanese are fine pressings. The price of the whole package will be equivalent to half the price of an orginal pressing

Let's stay positive ! you are not the only one to be scammed ! look a that ! Truly... ...Blue -
i've always been quite disppointed with Ry Cooder. I had many of his records (bop till, the long riders, its first one, jazz , crossroads) but no one them is 100 % interesting. Always the laid back temptation. So my conclusion is that the best Ry Cooder's album are : Paris Texas and John Hiatt's "Bring the Family" really a FABULOUS record, somewhat forgotten. (issued in 1987)

thanks for reminder. It's been loooooooong since i did not give a spin to this one. Don't even remember what's on it.

Very easy to spot : The guy that can not provide a single scan of a record The guy that has a 100 % feedback rapidly built in selling TRASH The guy that suddenly has a" good friend" who" sells" him his lexingtons, 447 west and riversides The guy who describes everything a M/M (have you ever seen a Mint record ? Not me) The guy that writes "yes mate" "no mate" ( the imbecile does not realize that we are not mates) The guy that ends the listings and reinstate it with unclear explanation. Only ONE of these reasons is enough to make make me feel dubious and avoid. Regarding Ebay... Ebay doesn't care about scammers. Ebay is devoted to sellers, period. -
Soul Station starts with : "Remember"

Brownie do not take it for yourself, it is just my opinion nothing more ! But really this "nothing ever was anyway" is probably (imho) one of the most boring jazz record i've ever heard. I've tried desperately to enter into this aerial, music... all my efforts were totally useless. And there are TWO cd's !!!! Highlits from this disc : cling..........(piano) 1 minute later : shhhhhh (cymbals) .....45 seconds later : pouiiiiiiiiii (bass) ....1 minute later : cliong cling tlong 30 seconds later ......pouiiiii poum 1 minute later : shhhhh shhhhhhh etc....

Agree with that... same old hysteria, with same esnipers, same music, same records seen a hundred times, (all are very rare, the occansion of a lifetime etc etc etc...) same japaneses / taiwanese / coreans etc... no description of the records, no picture, unpolite answers to questions '"yes mate" "nope mate !". The worst in Ebay auction is here. Sorry for quoting me, but one more thing you can do before bidding is asking for my advice.. -
Thats incredible ! i bought many LPs and CDs from them without any flaw. They are usually very cooperative. As Brownie said, the online shop is separated from their regular shop.

Incidentally, the winning bidder is a well known esnipe artist from the rising sun country. He usually spents tons of $$$$ on ebay each week. He was probably one of the heaviest bidder of recordsforall.... Did you hear from him in action against Moneyfornothing ? Probably not. Did he left negative ? Probably not. Our scam artist would not exist without those naive and compulsive Japanese millionaires and their Ebay Blue Note frenzy. -
Yeah, I was in his shop and thought about getting it there. I think he was selling it fairly cheaply. Anyway the mentality of this guy prevents me from buying anything from him. Thay guy is Sawano. Never had problems with him. I knew where he was coming from and avoided getting some of his hot items. We made several interesting exchanges. Missed the vinyl reissue of the Shihab Oktav but grabbed the Oktav CD reissue as soon as it came out. Cost me a few euros only Sawano closed his Mobydisque shop on the Paris Left Bank a while ago. He is still searching for rare albums for Japanese collectors but is also now involved with real estate. Sawano's vinyl reissue of the René Urtreger Versailles is a beauty! I started buying albums more than half a century ago. I had the two Arvanitas Pretorias. Lost one of the covers and gave the vinyl to Arnaud Boubet as he was starting his current Paris Jazz Corner shop. Nothing much to it, Arnaud had been very helpful - and not greedy at all - when I met him when he was still selling his jazz records off one of the bouquiniste stands above the Seine River quais. That was 20 years ago! Sahuano in real estate ? Not surprising. Boubet is a nice guy. Nothing to compare with the above stated. I certainly got my best Blue Note from him, and i'm glad that he had big sucess in PJC. Its well deserved I always buy my CD's and some LP's from their site, and at their shop whenever i go to Paris. I was young poor and ignorant when i started to have interest for Jazz, and its a particular field in which i met many older know-it-all who used to explain me that they were seated in front of Art blakey at the Club St germain in 58 while i was still resting in my father's balls... Boubet never had this attitude towards young customers like me, and i had access to many fine records thanks to him. Now that i'm old rich and knowledgeable i remember how Boubet helped me to start my collection with many fine records, that i still have, of course !

Absolutely right. A record dealer told me that in the 80's he desperately tried to get rid of Euro Jazz records. of Shihab or Barney Wilen, Swing 10' etc.. . Nobody was interested or willing to spend money for that. . When i started collecting jazz records, in the mid 90's it was then still possible to find records like "Byrd in Paris" or many Blakeys (Club St Germain, Liaisons dangereuses etc) at affordable prices in Paris. I bought many of them. When i realize that i was not really interested in collecting this kind of records (often low quality press, flimsy covers whatever rarity they are) i burned CD's (not always, i must admit) and sold them, or exchanged them for US records. Now even Slide Hampton european releases are collectible, while his US recordings are almost totally ignored. Regarding the rarity, i must say that some french jazz are impossibly rare : the Swing 10's are almost impossible to find (i only had a NM "Jimmy Raney visit Paris vol 1" at a time), because very low quantity were pressed. I've never seen a mint copy of Barbey Wilen's Tilt, never seen the "Guilde du Jazz" and the RCA, neither René Urterger on Versailles, or Ronnell Bright or Arvanitas on Pretoria. I always wonder who actually bought them when issued ! I'd say also, that Japanese are heavy bidders, but many repress are often sold for originals : three or five years ago, a mint complete set of "Blakey's club St Germain" was auctionned on ebay at more than 700 $. The complete set was in fact made of early 60's third press. Tried to warn the high bidder... No way...It seems that the combination US artists + European Artists + Small euro label is the big money combination...

I had the occasion to buy the Oktav reissue. it was made by a Japanese dealer in Paris and his brother, around 2002-2003. He distributed some copies here and there in France. Sahib Shihab is now one of the most sought after Jazz musician from this era. Look at "Seeds", "Companionship" and the Savoy recording, they all fetch insane price everytime. But the Oktav is really a top rare one.

Maybe it IS actually a Lexington press. Now I know.

It's incredible ! At least for me. Is this original one so desirable or are they crazy ? Of course absolutely LOVE this extraordinary Marvin album (who do not ?), but more than 1 K ? Porcy, do you know something about this pressing ?

I like this session ! Duke Pearson made a great job. Have you ever heard the Epic Session ? I've never found it. Nope - but I would like to hear it ! Saw one some years ago (probably at Mole Jazz). Not the greatest of condition so didn't go for it. Shame. I saw two copies in the previous years : one with a heavy ringwear and a(probably) accordingly trashed record. Another NM at around 475 $...definitely no regrets !

Choose a CD, it is lighter 1 - Eric Legnini Trio "Miss Soul" 2 - Rolf Kuhn "Streamline" 3 - Don Sleet "All Members" 4 - Herbie Hancock "Thrust" 5 - Herbie Hancock "Man Child" 6 - Deep Purple "Made In Japan" (for "Lazy") 7 - Rolling Stones "Bedspring Symphony" (violent and unauthorized, anyway) 8 - ZZ Top "Degûello" 9 - Julien Loureau "Fire and Forget" and if it does not work : Alphonse Mouzon "Mind Transplant"

In other words, mr Recordforall f@@@k anybody, and Ebay provides him the lubricant. -
Another Ebay marketing trick : the rarity of Saxophone Colossus. Let's count how many NM copies surface this year. We could repeat this with "blowin in from chicago", "jr monterose" and some others. meanwhile, let's check those two. One Saxophone... ...Another Colossus
