  9. Chewy- It was in KICKS issue # 3, and the interview was conducted by Mirriam's husband Billy Miller. The Magazine is kinda rare but very revealing. Esquerita also went by: Eskew Reeder, S.Q. Reeder, The Great Molochi....... Fascinating character! Esquerita died a pauper in 1996 (or was it '86?).... ---HB
  10. Chewy- Try to find KICKS magazine, issue 5, maybe it was issue 4, Mirriam Linna did an exhaustive article on Esquerita, that is where I got my info. ----HB
  11. Esquirita's other name was Fabulon Lash, he used that one for his campy, gay nightclub act. Esquivel, pronounced "Ess-Key-Vell" Both were fantastic artists.
  12. Right now I'm spinnin' Buddy Tate "The Texas Twister" Master Jazz 8128. With Paul Quinichette, Cliff Smalls, Major Holley and Jackie Williams. Both the original (Master Jazz) and the repress on New World sound fine, IMHO. Iz it on CD? Would make a good gift. Fun to hear Tate's vocals!

  23. Well, that is a silly reply, sirrah. His problem WAS substance ABUSE. Dig? No? Check it. My post had nothing to do with your post, why would say that? His problem was SUBSTANCE ABUSE, period. As per yr sustenance, if it rely's on my abuse, well...that sounds like yr problem. (?). Stand anywhere you feel comfortable 'round yr post. It really has NOTHING to do with yr very amazing releases. Respect to you MR. Nessa!!!
  24. Matts Gustafsson "Solos for Contrabass Saxophone" (Table of Elements) 1993. Kix ass!!!! Silk screened, colored vinyl. Most Boss. ----HB
  25. Mr. Nessa, Just your terminology, as is spelled out in the post you responded to. So, when talking about it (addiction, abuse) USE those terms. Thee point I would make to you is to make your point CLEAR. To quote you " His Substance was the tool" I still maintain, that this, is nebulous and not accurate. At any rate, Addiction is something I am familiar with. As a CAC III I deal w/ many addicts. I have always enjoyed yr releases, and wish you the absolute worst (JK)! TOOT, TOOT! --HB
