Hey Clifford Thornton.... Word up on CRIME, by far the best S.F. Punk band (better than the Avengers) Or, were L,.A.? I am a friend/assosciate of Michael Lucas, who was an original roadie for CRIME, back inna day. I still keep up with Johnny Strike, he has put out a few fiction novels, and started up a new(ish) band called TVT. Also, CRIME are recording new tracks for a new LP. Frankly, I was not so impressed w/ the TVT album, have you heard it? Currently spinning: BRASILIA NUEVA "How Insensitive" With Zoot Sims. A really great LP. Arranged by Bill Potts. On Decca, Stereo. Groovy, Daddy! \ ---HB -

Berigan, Yeah, some (early) Valee recordings are priceless!! I learned this after a lengthy tutorial by none other than TINY TIM!!!! Man, he was cool! No joke! He had an encyclopedic knowledge of THEE earliest recordings. When I spent an afternoon with him, he continously produced AMAZING recordings by Billy Murray, Russ Columbo...& SO many more. God Bless Tiny Tim!!!!!! -----Horny -

Arthur Doyle "No More Crazy Women" Qbico, Lettered edition. A clean copy of: Jim Pepper "Pepper's Pow Wow" I have a workable copy, just need a NM copy! Test "Ahead" Picture Disc. I have the black vinyl edition. (what a nerd I am!) Phil Urso: the LP on Regent, this is not that great (Danny Banks's 'everybody skate backwards' organ is really uninspiring) however, I'm an Urso completist (I have known the man for 15+ years). Heck, there are MANY more....with over 23,000 LPs, you are always looking for something more! Hell, I'm logging off and going to the rekkid store!! -

Curson straddled the line in the same way Ervin and Barron did... No Trane schtick, just really honest, hard, innovative and original playing. I love the Barron/Curson LP on Audiofidelity. Has that bitch been re-issued on CD? How 'bout that (I forget the title) Curson LP where he is wearing the Dashiki and has the nutty sideburns?!? Was it on Muse? An OK LP. Booop-boop-de-Doop!!

Hey, I have been looking in vain for the 3 LPs that Donald Ayler released on an Italian label in the '80's. I own them, but canna' find them. If I recall, they were mostly sub-par, with a few standout cuts. I'll keep digging, when I find them, I'll post the info. Anybody hip to these? Too many rekkids!!!! It's drivin' me krazy!! -----HB
