  6. Hey Clifford Thornton.... Word up on CRIME, by far the best S.F. Punk band (better than the Avengers) Or, were L,.A.? I am a friend/assosciate of Michael Lucas, who was an original roadie for CRIME, back inna day. I still keep up with Johnny Strike, he has put out a few fiction novels, and started up a new(ish) band called TVT. Also, CRIME are recording new tracks for a new LP. Frankly, I was not so impressed w/ the TVT album, have you heard it? Currently spinning: BRASILIA NUEVA "How Insensitive" With Zoot Sims. A really great LP. Arranged by Bill Potts. On Decca, Stereo.   12. Berigan, Yeah, some (early) Valee recordings are priceless!! I learned this after a lengthy tutorial by none other than TINY TIM!!!! Man, he was cool! No joke! He had an encyclopedic knowledge of THEE earliest recordings. When I spent an afternoon with him, he continously produced AMAZING recordings by Billy Murray, Russ Columbo...& SO many more. I have the black vinyl edition. (what a nerd I am!) Phil Urso: the LP on Regent, this is not that great (Danny Banks's 'everybody skate backwards' organ is really uninspiring) however, I'm an Urso completist (I have known the man for 15+ years). Heck, there are MANY more....with over 23,000 LPs, you are always looking for something more! Hell, I'm logging off and going to the rekkid store!!

  16. Dig, Looking for the Fresh Sounds reissue of Mike Cuozzo's self titled LP, which was issued on Fresh Sounds back inna the 1980's. Really need this sucker! If Tom Burns ain't got it, and I'm sure he don't, I will have to rely on you folks. I would REALLY appreciate it! ANY HELP would be appreciated. -----Horny
  17. Curson straddled the line in the same way Ervin and Barron did... No Trane schtick, just really honest, hard, innovative and original playing. I love the Barron/Curson LP on Audiofidelity. Has that bitch been re-issued on CD? How 'bout that (I forget the title) Curson LP where he is wearing the Dashiki and has the nutty sideburns?!? Was it on Muse? An OK LP. Booop-boop-de-Doop!!

  24. Hey, I have been looking in vain for the 3 LPs that Donald Ayler released on an Italian label in the '80's. I own them, but canna' find them. If I recall, they were mostly sub-par, with a few standout cuts. I'll keep digging, when I find them, I'll post the info. Anybody hip to these? Too many rekkids!!!! It's drivin' me krazy!! -----HB
