  1. BTW, here's what cyber warfare looks like in real time. http://map.norsecorp.com/v1/
  2. I'm surprised Lizard Squad has stayed so quiet on the Anonymous declaration. Even posted a transcript of it on their Facebook page with no further comment.
  3. Wow! I wonder why? I know deliver later into the night during Christmas season, but I've never seen a mail carrier out after dark.
  4. Um, wake up and face what reality? That there are crazy fucks out there who wanto kill people? Pretty sure everyone understands that just fine.
  5. It's not an act of war, it's an act of terror. A stateless entity cannot declare war on a sovereign state.
  6. Delivering mail in the dark? Wow, I've definitely never seen that before.
  7. It's a calculated risk, but in cases like Rasmus and Wieters I think it's a reasonable tactic in hopes of keeping players with marginal monetary value, but important team value, around so that they can extend them to team friendly contracts. In Wieters case, he might be one of the best catchers in MLB, but he's barely played the last two years. So, perhaps before giving him a long-term contract, they want to see another year of him to make damn sure he's going to be worth the investment? I don't know...
  8. Almost all players who are given qualifying offers are those in line for monster paydays attached to lengthy contracts. Teams usually only offer it to players they know will refuse it because they get a compensatory draft pick from whatever team signs said player. I'm shocked that four players accepted it this year! But their agents obviously did their homework and tolf them they weren't going to get more on the open market. Oh, and the salary figure is based on the average salary of the top 125 players from the previous season, so no, not too low at all.
  9. Colby Rasmus makes history by being the first player to sign a qualifying offer.
  10. Yeah, and as hard as it is to believe if you hadn't witnessed it with your own eyes, the bullpen was far better THIS season. We had three or four guys that could close. Yes, close. And when our lights out closer from last year went down, our setup man slipped easily into the role and the pen never lost a step. It was wall to wall this season. We had no afterthought guys in the pen. It was incredible.
  11. I have to say, Crawford and Pence became overnight favorites of mine during the Series last year. They both leave it all on the field. They don't rest on their talents, they use them for everything they're worth. Good cats, GREAT players.
  12. That's a rather low bar, I'm afraid... Kinda like saying a .22 bullet hurts less than a .44
  13. I kinda thought Trout was a lock for one this year, but Kiermaier is a beast. He had a season this year that resembled Lorenzo Cain's postseason last year. As for Cespedes, his throwing arm seems to be what got him the award. Eh, whatever. He's still a bit of a loose canon out there, but he is absolutely gifted beyond belief. But Brett Gardner really should have won it, IMO. Many felt he should have won it over Gordon in years past. It's a argument that is noteworthy. And BTW, Tim, I apologize. I didn't mean to downplay what an outstanding player Crawford is, and certainly hope you didn't take it that way. He's the NL version of Escobar, IMO. Both are highlight reels waiting to happen every time the ball is put in play. He made some downright bats hit plays in the Series against us last year. You've got yourself a great one there.
  14. The fact that Yoenis Cespedes won a Gold Glove makes me question the integrity of the award itself. I'm pretty sure even Mets fans would agree with that.
  15. Only show we currently watch (aside from sports) is The Walking Dead. And as bad as it was last year, I'm glad we gave it one more chance because this season has been as good as the show has ever been.
  16. Hey, I want one of those walk in tubs! Those suckers look pretty sweet!
  17. Gordon will command WAY too much money for the Royals to counter, and they seem VERY intent on re-signing Zobrist. So I think he's got those two backwards.
  18. Hey! Hope you have a great B-Day, Paul! :)
  19. Ben Zobrist and his wife named their new baby daughter Blaise Royal Zobrist. Hmmmm... Perhaps he does love it here as much as has been reported.
  20. Yes. First rounder, unless it's a team within the first ten picks, which it most likely wouldn't be. Then they'd get a second round pick. Couldn't agree more. And he's dealt with a LOT of injuries throughout his career. Two of them major. Though, to be fair, the first probably saved his career as it forced him to move from 3B to LF. Funny how seemingly bad things work out in the end. He's really about as humble of a guy as you'll find in MLB. And still one hell of a player. I hope he is able to give whoever gets him some quality years. Some fans feel bad blood towards players that leave, but in Gordon's case, I'd say almost all Royals fans are wishing him nothing but the very best.
  21. Hmmm... That's interesting. Nothing has come across the Royals board on the Angels thing as of now. And we've got sources in Surprise that post there. Though, I guess since it isn't an actual internal matter, it'd likely be off their radar. The ongoing narrative amongst the delusional are that Alex is going to stay here because "he grew up a Kansas City Royals fan". Some folks just can't be reasoned with. From what I've seen, it looks as though Zobrist will likely get a 3/42 contract this offseason. I could definitely see the Royals stepping up to do that.
  22. Where did you hear the Gordon rumor? I'm pretty sure the Royals are going to make a hard push to keep Zobrist. And so far he's made it sound like he's interested in staying. Gordon, OTOH, should be wearing a different uni next season.
  23. Well it won't be Royal Blue, I can guarantee you that.
  24. There are no favorites. Next season is a long way away, and MANY things will change before then, and especially after it gets started.
