  1. In fairness, I’m sure some of those manufacturers DO put a lot of thought and care into their cables. Unfortunately, they also put a lot of hopes, dreams, wishes, and prayers into them. All of which are inaudible, BTW.
  2. I’ll believe the Apple download thing when it actually happens. The demise of the iTunes store has been breathlessly rumored for several years.
  3. Forrest Whitaker played Bird, though. So there’s that.
  4. Space X and Tesla Motors seems to be doing well enough. He does tend to be a bit pie in the sky at times. But hey, so was Steve Jobs. That seemed to work out well enough.
  5. You can choose what to load on each phone. My wife and I have varying tastes. I load what she wants on her phone, and load what I want on mine. All from the same library. All from the same iTunes program, account/login, and iMac.
  6. Not with purchased copies. Those are permanent. If they lose rights, they simply cannot sell more copies.
  7. No, no. Don’t get me wrong, I’m making no assumptions at all. I was just addressing the long-term viability question that Rooster brought up concerning digital files vs CD/LP. Also, take a look at your example of a fire or some “act of god” destroying your home. Unless you have backup CDRs of your entire collection stored off site, the viability showdown between downloads stored in the cloud vs physical media just became a rout.
  8. Redundant backups are all that is necessary, Kevin. My external hard-drive backs up my entire computer about every 12 minutes. Not to mention all my downloads from iTunes are stored in the cloud automatically. Anyone that loses their entire library due to a hard-drive crash these days is simply not doing it right.
  9. I keep my library in iTunes. All cataloged by whatever tab I choose: album title, artist, genre, alphabetical (my personal choice). All tracks are there behind the album cover. I use the same interface on my iPad when I want to play anyof them on my main system in the living room. A flick of the finger, a tap on the album cover, and we be jammin’. I can access my entire library and choose an album and have it playing in a fraction of the time it would take for me to go back to my room where my CDs are, choose one, bring it out to the living room, load it in the CD player, and press play.
  10. That’s cool. It’s far easier than you make it sound. But no biggie, it’s not for everyone.
  11. Hence the ??? I guess I’m missing the joke.
  12. ??? Uploads are uploaded to a server. Downloads are downloaded from a server. They’re both still the same digital file.
  13. I don’t really understand any of this. Why wouldn’t a download still function in 20 or 30 years? And why would you have to “port” anything around from hard-drive to hard-drive? And what needs to be upgraded every few years?
  14. One wonders if this is how the death of buggy whip makers played out.
  15. Well, I guess I give them credit for finding new ways to market their material. I mean, they can’t go the “hep us before we has to folds, precious!!!” route they went last year. At least not so soon afterwards. So, whatever.
  16. No, that was actually some rather high octane brevity, coming from you! Seriously, though. Thanks for the breakdown. I still may spring for it, just cuz. But I’ll know to keep my expectations at a low simmer.
  17. The night she sang opera at The Grammys...
  18. So was this prime Woody Herman? I'm not terribly familiar with his output, but thoroughly enjoy what I've heard, and Sister Sadie (which wouldn't appear in this set) is one of my all time favorite Jazz tunes.
  19. If you want a pretty cable, then get one. Just know you’re paying more only for it’s beauty. The sound it delivers will not be any better than an ugly cable of the same AWG.
  20. As long as you have the proper guage for the length you are running, the only other thing that matters is how pleasing you want them to look. Sonically there will be zero difference. I posted a speaker cable calculator here a few years ago. Might still be here.
  21. Made it as far as the backup singers chiming in. That’s truly awful shit. I need to listen to listen to some Chuck Mangione to cleanse the palette.
  22. The Broncos drafted Chubb. I disagree. Landry was a HUGE acquisition. My buddy that is also a knowlegable NFL fan thinks they may win even more games. Your team has more talent than you are giving them credit.
  23. Color me confused on the real estate listing, but I think the Browns are headed in a very positive direction, culturally. I'm a Tyrod Taylor homer, so take it with a grain of salt that I think he'll make a great leader for your team. BUT, if they don't win 6 or 7 games this year, I will be shocked. Though I guess Gordon is still the wild card in the equation. I still wish they'd have drafted Chubb...
  24. Phenomenal price. No wonder they sell out fast. I believe I paid $30 for my Emotiva cables. 5ft, 14AWG with braided covering, and banana plug terminations. So, slightly more visually pleasing than these, but I'd have ZERO problem having these on my system. Good find! Brother, when I was dipping Copenhagen MANY moons ago they had one flavor. It was called Copenhagen. Now I swear when I'm at the grocery store and I glance at the Copenhagen products, there's like 10 different flavors. Camel offering a filtered cigarette is one thing, but the Baskin-Robbins approach to flavor is truly out of control.
