  1. I agree with this sentiment 100%!!! 1000%, even. Lipi seems to be the only one here that is truly getting it.
  2. So are all artists that play Bebop simply imitators or museum curators? How about those who still play 60's-style Free Jazz? Just wondering, because I never hear them disparaged similarly.
  3. No, but Al Davis was the ringleader, from what I've read. A serious thirn in Rozelle's side. It's actually quite sad to see what folks like Davis, Rozelle, Hunt, etc. built now being completely torn down by Goodell. Rozelle was vilified in his time, yet Tagliabue caused everyone to reassess. Tagliabue was vilified in his time, but Goodell caused everyone... Rinse and repeat...
  4. Yeah, I have read a lot about how instrumental (by way of being a complete pain in the ass) Al Davis was in the merger itself. Man older buddy of mine has long held that the AFL was some of the most entertaining football he's ever seen.
  5. Is he related to Tom Curran? He covers the Patriots for NBC Sports in Boston.
  6. Nice piece, GA. I've been watching the NFL since 1978 and know a fair deal of its history, but had never heard of The Million Dollar Backfield.
  7. No, and this is a very damaging move on his part if he and his lawyer don't have a smoking gun.
  8. Awesome, Larry! Thanks for the update.
  9. The intro to So What when the horns come in.
  10. I'd be surprised. Look at how that worked out for Bill Cosby.
  11. Wow! A positive post about Wynton Marsalis! I'm impressed!
  12. That's shockingly hilarious coming from the one poster in this thread that looks at sexual assault as just another ho hum day at the office.
  13. Hey, man. They had it coming! At least, that seems to be Dimitry's take on this.
  14. All excellent points. I should have been more careful about painting with such a broad brush.
  15. I'm glad I'm not that in love with money to where I'd sit idly by while things of this nature were going on.
  16. Although I'd never say any of this, I do have to give it my seal of approval.
  17. Make it look like an accident, Larry. You know the drill.
  18. The Cowboys secondary is really bad. There's your Real News story. Sometimes it really IS that simple.
  19. IMO, either this thread should find itself on the business end of Master Kart's accidental shitcan finger, or we should petition Mr. Alfredson to reinstate the political subforum of this site.
  20. Sorry, but there's absolutely no way for any of us to know that.
  21. What exactly are you going to text Paddock? He's dead, and the FBI is combing through the paper trail of his life picking gnat shit out of pepper. The difference between someone that is still alive and can provide answers when asked, and someone who is dead is enormous. So your hypothetical makes absolutely no sense.
  22. Only problem being that he's dead, with no previously documented mental health issues. There's nothing left to study.
  23. If they cannot find one, then what exactly are they going to present to the public? Even though Jim's take on this stands in direct opposition to the intellectual curiosity he demanded of himself with the Hino story, I agree agree with everything he's said. Cat went batshit crazy, murdered a shitload of people, then killed himself. The End They've already exhausted all the usual suspects. He wasn't a Muslim convert, rightwing nutjob, leftwing nutjob, and so on. There was no religious or political motivation behind this attack. Just a batshitter with an arsenal that could supply a small army. I'm not sure what else we even need to know at this point.
  24. Hahaha... Now, stop and ask yourself: what the fuck would they need with Hurricane proof glass in Las Vegas, Nevada? Hint: that story was made up bullshit.
