  1. Isn't Luby's thew place that got shot up a couple of decades ago?
  2. Nah. World's Oldest People dying is overblown. I mean, it only happens to 1 out of every 7 billion people.
  3. My ambivalence concerning this veiled RIP thread is registered.
  4. I agree about the drumming. That was the strongest aspect of the track. And Washington may not be the strongest player, but I found his solo enagaging and enjoyable.
  5. Eh, musically it has a moment or two. Nothing I'd return to, but pleasant enough for a single listen. The video was somewhat boring.

    RIP

But what a horrendous inconvenience it is to them!

Talk about thinking outside of the box!

Um, no. There are no true "editions" in the intertubes age... 24/7 news cycle, FTW! There's an absurdly simple way of avoiding them. Would you like me to tell you what it is?

    RIP

Probably not since the mid 20th century, I'd think...
  10. Well...one problem solved, just to create another one. Sorry, brother. At least you got the Basie, I guess. As much as I love Apple products, I'll be the first to admit that iTunes can be a real motherfucker. I wish I could help you further, but without being on your machine, it's hard to know where to start. Uninstall iTunes, and repair WMP? Maybe? Sometimes when you have multiple media players, they tend to not play nice with each other. "Default program" and whatnot... Are there any preference options in WMP that allows you to set it as your default media player?
  11. He was there when I attended in 2007. I spent most of my time up in the balcony, so I never got a good look at what he was drawing. It looked rather complex from my vantage point. I wonder if it was the same artist?
  12. I grew up listening to The Beatles. They were my first musical "love". Not too long ago I would have agreed with your opinion of Sgt. Pepper. But I actually sat down with it, through my headphones, some time last year and it struck a chord in me that it never had before. I always "liked" it, but now it has reached the level of masterpiece.
  13. $150??!! Man, I love The Beatles as much as anyone, but fuck that.
  14. Kevin, just curious, what was your old tv?
  15. I'd do a search on why iTunes won't open on Windows when you click on the icon. Sounds like either a bad install, or perhaps there is something missing or needs to be repaired. Redeeming the gift is quite easy, but naturally you need to be in iTunes to do it.
  16. Looks amazing! Can't wait for it to come out on home video.
  17. AH! I knew the "in the butt" reference from that show, but was either unaware that Barris had created it, or had simply forgotten. How's life in Plant City treating you? We only lived there shy of two years, but found it pleasant enough. Being in such close proximity to Tampa/Ybor City/Disney World/Orlando/etc was a great perk.
  18. In the butt? What is that in reference to?
  19. He played a solo concert here several years ago. It was enjoyable, but not terribly remarkable.
  20. Heh. Brother, you're going to have to work a lot harder than that if you want to troll me.
  21. Wow. I have absolutely no idea how you can't hear the atmospherics of Pink Floyd in Sigur Rós.
  22. Conversely, that's the only Pink Floyd album I really don't care for. It seems to be a serious line of demarcation amongst fans, though. Those who are fans of it, and nothing else from them usually refer to them as The Pink Floyd. But back when I smoked weed I could listen to Wish You Were Here on repeat play for hours! And The Wall was kind of the soundtrack of my teenage years. So...
  23. Are you a Pink Floyd fan? I hear a direct lineage between them and Sigur Rós. It's all about the atmospherics. I think Agaetis Byrjun is a masterpiece. When I first read this post, I read it as Steely Dan! I'm sure you can imagine my reaction!
  24. Yep, and what did Miles say? (badly paraphrasing) "You'll never capture the true essence of Jazz until you record it live in the clubs, mistakes and all..." Wasn't that in the liner notes for the Blackhawk dates?
  25. I think if someone goes to your profile page and leaves a message in your "feed" it shows up publicly. For example, click on my profile and you'll see that option under the activity tab. Because I can see that exchange when I look at your profile. Looks like it works like a pseudo Facebook "wall" kind of thing. Before Lois shut down JC, there was a similar feature.
