I most recently heard Dan Patrick talking about it on his radio show. For a company that just laid off 300 production employees in October, these numbers actually are very significant. When you have a second round of layoffs, that itself is very significant.

Sometimes when you have multiple media players, they tend to not play nice with each other. "Default program" and whatnot... Are there any preference options in WMP that allows you to set it as your default media player?

I'd do a search on why iTunes won't open on Windows when you click on the icon. Sounds like either a bad install, or perhaps there is something missing or needs to be repaired. Redeeming the gift is quite easy, but naturally you need to be in iTunes to do it.
