  1. C'mon, that's melodramatic bullshit and you know it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with watching professional hitters hit. Nothing.
  2. God... The Decision 2.0 will be the most unbearable news item in the history of news items...
  3. So? Most can't. And as far as the slump argument is concerned, at least slumping hitters eventually work their way out of it. You're a NL guy and don't like it. Fine. But us AL guys do. We're not insisting you adopt our rules, and neither should you.
  4. I checked in early this morning. I think the servers were temporarily down. Nothing wrong with the end-user.
  5. WTF?! Yeah, I can't say I was impressed by the trailer. Looks like a buddy action movie. Fuck that.
  6. The later sequences had KOB playing as well. I just wonder why Cheadle didn't go with that period.
  7. Ummm... So if it mostly focuses on late period Miles why was the majority of the sound track Kind Of Blue?
  8. Probably because there aren't many full time DHs left.
  9. I don't really care one way or the other. I dig the strategy needed in the N.L., but I like watching professional hitters hit more than I like seeing professional hurlers strike out.
  10. We've had a Logitech Harmony One for about five or six years now. Awesome remote.
  11. I took Lorazepam once, and it just made me really relaxed. I wasn't sleepy at all, but I guess I can see something like that being addicting. Have either of you tried L-Theanine? It's over the counter and has a similar effect to Lorazepam. I have one that's called Theanine Serene (IIRC), and that seem to be very relaxing. Though, it's never really helped as a sleep aid for me...
  12. OK. We're saying the exact same thing here. Either I wasn't getting my point across properly, or you weren't getting what I was trying to say.
  13. Wow, that's too bad. I hate going the chemical route for anything. Wish you the best, my friend.
  14. So what notable albums have had vinyl-like harmonic distortion added to the final digital mix?
  15. But Jim, I'm not talking about sprinkling in effects here and there. I'm talking about introducing even order harmonics across the mix, so CDs end up with the "warm sound" of vinyl. I doubt any engineer would ever do that. Although it certainly would have sounded a hell of a lot better than what the loudness wars cursed us with.
  16. The last two Dark Knight movies look great during the Imax scenes. Not always so great during the regular shots.
  17. That looks like a great buy, Dmitry! Let us know what you think about it once you've spent some quality screen time with it.
  18. In fairness, Jim is the only one that mentioned Washington. I do agree with your overall point, though.
  19. ??? I'm not getting the "pick on the Pitchfork crowd" part. Who did that?
  20. I'd bet you're wrong about that, HP. Based on my experience, hardly anyone into those genres have the slightest idea what Jazz even is. And the majority of the few who might only know the names Miles Davis and John Coltrane because they've been name dropped in tunes they've listened to.
  21. Wow! That's a rather amazing statement. I wish I had thought of that one. It's great point. Which also makes one ask, "why don't the engineers add the distortion of vinyl to CDs?" I'd think the answer is rather obvious.
  22. Good call, Kevin! Those OLED sets are truly beautiful.
  23. Plasma's definitely have the superior picture over LED/LCD. Only downside is they weight a fucking ton and a half.
  24. If you want the most artifact and distortion free sound possible, then it would be CD. But, some folks find the harmonic distortion ("warmth") that vinyl introduces to be pleasant, which leads them to believe LP is the superior medium. They both sound fine, and I can listen to either and enjoy them equally (as long as the LP is in pristine condition). But I'd never try to fool myself into thinking they're equal, or that LP is superior.
  25. I was right there with you on DVD vs Blu-ray. I had Blu-ray capabilities with my PS3 for a couple of years before I finally rented a Blu-ray just to see what the hullabaloo was all about. HOLY MOLY! I didn't even have to A->B! As for 4K, have you ever checked one out in the store? The difference between them and regular LED/LCD is like the difference between DVD and Blu-ray. They're really impressive. But, I don't plan on getting one any time soon. I tend to be a late adopter with almost all technology for some reason. I'm pretty sure I was the last person on the planet to buy a CD player. Not to mention a smart phone.
