  1. I would never want a set of speakers I couldn't move myself. Those suckers are almost 700lbs each!
  2. What a disastrous life.
  3. David Bowie has always been a curiosity to me. While I love tunes like Space Oddity, I'm Afraid Of Americans, and the astonishing Golden Years, I am still unable to really get into his music as a whole. What I've heard of the new one sounds interesting, but I still don't know that I'll ever own it. Either way, I do have a great deal of respect for him as an artist, and recognize everything he did for entertainment in general.
  4. I wish I had all the info mjzee listed when I "upgraded" to iTunes 12 only to find all my ripped music had vanished. It took quite some time to solve that little problem. Apple has gone downhill as far as their software is concerned. And now with the rumor that the next iPhone won't have a headphone jack, that may soon apply to their hardware as well.
  5. Ah, so I just did a little search and it seems you cannot do a migration solely using Time Machine. It has to be integrated with the migration assistant.

The ones I saw weren't MP3s, but AAC. And mastered for iTunes. That's pretty much "I can't believe it's not CD" quality.
  7. Once more, can't you use a Time Machine backup to migrate to a new machine?
  8. You used the term "egging on", which is usually a precursor to "getting what you had coming". Pretty easy dots to connect. Perhaps you didn't mean it that way, but that's how how it read.
  9. Yeah, you absolutely exhaust every option. Our prior mattress was a cheap one, as we didn't have a lot of money at the time we purchased it. It was in such bad shape, there were little ruts in it where my legs were! It's one thing to have it sag under the weight of your torso, but your legs?! I can't think of a better sign that your mattress is completely shot than that!
  10. Excellent advice! I'm going to try to implement all of that into my own routine.
  11. Winter finally arrived yesterday, and we ended up getting four inches of snow. Really bizarre for us to go that late into the season with absolutely no accumulating snow. Colder than fuck out there now. Thermometer was reading 5 degrees this morning!
  12. Brother, I really feel for you. I've been dealing with it more often than not for the past year! One thing that helped a little was replacing our 13 y.o. mattress. It's gotten better since then, but I'll still have a bout of it every now and then. Like you, I've also tried many changes in habit, but haven't appreciated any successful patterns. It's all just a jumble of random results.
  13. Yeah, Tim, I have to echo the closing statement here. As rational and compassionate human beings, we really have to move past the ugliness of the "she had it coming" excuse. And Page! Welcome back, it's nice to see you around. How are things outside Amsterdam these days?
  14. It's not assumed consent, but it's not a wise choice either. That said, we have no idea what conversation took place beforehand. It's somewhat safe assumption it wasn't, "let's go back to my room and watch The Flintstones!"
  15. The accusers saying they had no knowledge and gave no consent makes it the truth just as much as Cosby saying they did makes it true. That is why we have a legal system. Let's not put the cart before the horse.
  16. We don't know for a fact that the women were fully aware of what they were taking, and why he was giving it to them. That's where the entire case becomes problematic. If his attorney can prove that they did indeed fully understand the ramifications, then we eventually see The Cosby Show back on Nick At Nite in the future. If the prosecutor can prove that they had no idea what they were taking, or had been lied to about what it was, then it's game over, Billy.
  17. I've never had to do a Mac to Mac migration. Can't you just use Time Machine to set up the new one?
  18. I didn't either, but here's what I found. http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/spotify-and-privacy.html Not terribly frightening, nor Orwellian even a little bit, IMO. Works pretty much the same exact way search engines like Google do. Certainly no reason for it to be a deal breaker.
  19. Read the first article Larry posted. that will clear up your confusion.
  20. What data are they collecting?
  21. Very interesting, Larry! Thanks for the links. I definitely learned something new today.
  22. Right. Prior acts can only be used to determine sentencing.
  23. Poor wording on my part, Larry. Enforcement as in forced.
  24. Consent and enforcement tend to be equally difficult to establish. So good luck to both, really. Especially considering how old the incident itself is.
  25. Yep, now the debate can finally be put to rest and let the criminal justice system do its thing.
