There's a new Martial Solal CD coming out on Sunnyside--a duet with Dave Liebman from 2016, Masters in Bordeaux. Someone traded in a promo, so I'm in mid-second listen. It is pretty nice.

I think the Benny Golson/Freddie Hubbard may have originally come out on a Japanese label.

Ed Blackwell, George Adams, Don Pullen, and Reggie Workman 1984-05-05 Festival Tent 5:30 PM This group appeared at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1984. Looks like an interesting variation of the Adams/Pullen quartet.

Harold Lopez-Nussa Trio, Herencia (World Village)

The last few days I've been listening to the Comedian, a soundtrack album but really a Terrence Blanchard album. It's pretty good, with Kenny Barron as the other main soloist. It has three quartet performances, one piano/bass duo featuring Kenny Barron, and four pieces adding two saxophones to the quartet--Ravi Coltrane and New Orleans based favorite (of mine) Khari Allen Lee. It's quite a solid mainstream jazz recording.

Duke Ellington, Mood Ellington (Columbia ten inch). A 1949 release of 1948 material; this copy is a bit noisy but the sound of the Ellington Orchestra is extremely vivid. Jackie McLean, Let Freedom Ring (Blue Note). A blue label, '70s reissue; but still I was happy to find it for $7, as it sounds good and is still marked Van Gelder in the inner groove.

Terence Blanchard, The Comedian (Blue Note)

On Hebron west off I-35, not too far from Vista Ridge Mall. However, it is a rarity to find good records there. That's the only Jacy Parker album listed in the Goldmine Jazz Records Price Guide, with a 1962 release date.

Yes, I bought it. I don't pass by an out of the ordinary Verve LP any more.

I don't know but I did recently find a copy of that record at the HPB in Lewisville.
