I heard him live only once, at the Village Vanguard, with Don Cherry (plus Carlos Ward and a tuba player). From my seat, I could not really see him, as my view was obstructed by the pillar, but he sure sounded great.

Tonight, part of a set by the David Schnitter Quartet.
Lester Young--The President (Norgran). A very well loved copy that I hesitated to buy, but the wonderful sound mostly overshadows the surface noise.
Ornette Coleman--The Empty Foxhole (Blue Note, NY USA label, Liberty cover)
i enjoyed this immensely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, that was real good. Her new CD should arrive in the mail any day.
that young lady has advanced light years in months.
Her tenor sound in person is really gorgeous.

That cadenza/intro to the Monk piece in the second set was amazing. From one prior experience at Smalls, I can say that her tenor sound in person is really gorgeous. Last time I was in New York in October, I was extremely disappointed that she was out of the country.
She posted your photo on twitter and said nice things about you. In addition to being a fantastic musician, she's rather entertaining on twitter. I like her, without actually having met her.
twitter or tumblr? I saw the later and was of course flattered by her comments ... I tend to forget to open her tumblr regularly, but I love it as well! (I don't do twitter at all.)
Twitter on my iPhone, but probably the same content.
