I purposely avoided reading any threads or reviews of this before it aired. I really enjoyed the first episode. Most of the historical footage was new to me. The Son House stuff was really great. I also dug the West African musicians and enjoyed the performances. The fife and drum segments were outstanding as well. I'll watch again, tonight.

That was a good game. It looked like the Steelers were going to finally get their revenge against Tennessee. They controlled the ball for 20 out of the first 30 minutes and seemd to be rolling for much of the first half. But the Titans were able to play relatively mistake free on the offense and capitalize on several key turnovers by the Steelers. It's a shame that we only see Pittsburgh once a year now. Pittsburgh and Cleveland are former division rivals that I always enjoyed watching a couple times a year. Go Titans!

Definitely get a DVD burner if you can, but a CD burner is a cheap and convenient way to go. Go to newegg.com and pick up one of these for only 40 bucks. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?...rtby=14&order=1 It's cheap, it's reliable and easy. Blank CDs are so cheap these days.

AB, I wrestled with this for YEARS. Here's the short version: I definitely started out as a jazz fan. I've played the tenor saxophone since age 13. I really developed a love and understanding of the music in High School. After a few years, I landed a gig at a local music store. This was about 1987-1988, the start of the CD boom and fortunately for me and many others, the start of a flood of jazz reissues. I began to pick up every Blue Note, OJC and most other major label reissues that hit the shelves. It was really a golden age. Every session was like a new recording to me. The years passed and I became the manager of that record store. Over a period of about 8 years, I had amassed a collection of nearly 3000 CD's. Somewhere along the way, something changed. I was picking everything up out of convenience, not out of desire. I had become a collector. I really wasn't enjoying music like I used to. Well, in 1995, I left my record store to go get my bachelors degree. Over the next few years, I ended up selling almost every single CD that I had. It would make some of you sick. I had all the Mosaics from 101-150. Box Sets. OOp sides. Everything. I did it to pay my way through school. Had Ebay been in full swing then, I probably could have gotten 3 times what I sold things for. Regret? Nope, on the contrary. I learned a few things. There is more music out there than I could ever hope to hear in 10 lifetimes. I don't need to own everything. The records exist. It's not up to me to be the library of congress. and lastly, there are many other things in life as great as music. I am now married. Have a son. Another on the way. I am happier now than I have ever been. And I am a Jazz fan again.

AAAARRRRGGHHHH! That happened to me a couple years ago. Here is what I used with pretty good success. A mixture of 1. Dawn liquid dish detergent, 2. Baking Soda, and 3. Hydrogen Peroxide. I don't remember the exact amount I used of each, but I do remember that you make it into a semi-thick paste. Then apply the paste to the affected areas on the dog and let it sit a while. The combination of the soap, baking soad and peroxide do a good job of stripping out the skunk oils. You may have to do a few applications, but It should work. When it happened to me, it was about 5 in the morning. My dog killed the skunk too, so we had to clean up all the skunk guts that were strewn about the yard. AACCCKKK. When I went to the grocery store to buy the ingredients listed above, tha cashier gave me some unsolicited advice. Ohhhh! You should use a DOUCHE! So if my mixture doesn't work, try massengill! Wow, AB! That Chained cover is outstanding! impossible, I really liked your takes on the Mothership cover. Especially the first one.

I just had a couple of odd pictures that I found online and tried to incorporate them into a cover. They didn't really have anything to do with the artists or recording date. I just thought it would be an interesting challenge. I'm going to play around with Photoshop some more tonight when I get home from work. I find it very relaxing.
