  4. Now you tell me! Actually, just going from the sound samples, the duet between Byard and Nance on a somber-sounding version of A-Train is the highlight of the album. mighty-quinn It's Roland Hanna on piano on that 'Take The A Train', says the liner notes to the vinyl!
  5. The Ray Nance 'Body and Soul' actually was initially released on Solid State. Byard and Roland Hanna share piano chores.

  19. Wish I did -_-
  20. You might ask him about his involvment with the new music in the 60s and 70s. He seemed to stay on the edge of it. Any reason for this? Also could he talk about the hiatus in his musical career? He probably has interesting to say about it! I know you'll ask him about his relationship with Wayne Shorter. Grachan and Wayne were amazingly compatible.
  21. Actually, looks like the prices of vintage BN vinyls are on the way up! 22. Doug Watkins 'Watkins At Large' (Transition BN/King Japan) with Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley, Kenny Burrell, Duke Jordan, Art Taylor
  23. Bought a bunch of vinyls when I visited the BN offices twice. Standard prices for review copies (no Review stamps on those I got there) was $2,50 each. I was not wise enough to ask Frank Wolff to sign the copies. He would probably have shied away from doing it anyway!
  24. Must have been the BNBB! The only jazz forum I took part in before it grew into Organissimo!
  25. Hallelujah! The Truth is marching in!
