sounds like you bought one of those Spanish TimeLife Blue Notes which are on sale at the moment (easy way to check: if your cover is blue instead of yellowish this is the case) some of those are TOCJ (got Grant Green's Talkin About TOCJ this way yesterday) (but not all of these are TOCJs) previous thread: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=1180 thanks for the tip! mine is yellow, think they just put the wrong cd in the jewelbox, in the recordstore. (jewelcases and cd's are ofter kept apart in some stores, overhere) think I''ll go back and let them change it, some other person might expect a Japanes one, and is getting another one, too JB

I only disocovered the "rare groove series" half a year ago, and a lot of those records are in my player a lot! All the records that are available I already own now, wouldn't mind owning the rest, too!! Typical how fast some reissues are getting unavaiable themselves, and getting collector items, too JB

but the RvG has also the "a new look at Out To Lunch"- lines notes, next to the original lines notes (only 2 pages on my CD) JB

I'm curous about his trumpet playing, I only read about that in Miles' autoboigraphy. He wasn't very charmed about it... :)

while shopping for the new RvG's, I bought Eric Dolphy's "Out To Lunch" (also RvG), and while listening to it, I noticed the original liner notes aren't complete. Does it sound familiair? Did it happen with all of them? Does it happen a lot with Blue Note (RvG) reissues? Maybe somebody can enlighten me? JB

in europe this batch is already out. just bought 3 cd's, oa Thad Jones, here in Amsterdam at "Concerto", but discovered at home they put the TOCJ in it... weird...
