  1. Sorry but within the confines of an LP facsimile, there ain't no room for bonus material.
  2. Ltd Edition vinyl, I bet $30 is their price point and it would have to be some unknown and impossible to find release that they would ever get anything from me. And of all the recordings to choose from at the start, its the Roy Brooks again? (Oh but its never been issued in this extra special, massively overpriced vinyl!)
  3. I saw this and have to admit I did not think she would have been my age (well, in another 33 days). As I think about it though it might be that "What's Happening" was watched mostly in syndication in the 80s, producing the illusion that she was younger than she was. RIP, and sympathy to Mr. Pelt.
  4. Third or fourth or maybe even fifth favorite Silver front line but I am sure I am in on this.
  5. Which is also the non-BN LD album with Grant Green.
  6. The Red Sox have sucked me back in, so I am sure they will resume sucking soon enough.
  7. I heard of a different angle of the dangle, in a context that is entirely inappropriate. (Green smilie here)
  8. Seemed curiously distended but I think you are right.
  9. Seems like it's based on Free For All era Blakey, like a straight on image of the cover photo. But they did weird things with his chin/lines under his jaw.
  10. I have a new phone - haven't even added email or Facebook. But my Facebook circle is small and I never find myself scrolling thru posts the way my wife does (she has a large group of "horse friends") ... I do spend time on youtube but not obsessively and to be honest, mostly during the work day. No "subscribed" feeds but I let the algorithm keep me abreast of similar vids that I do watch (aviation, comedy clips, true crime especially the upcoming Donna Adelson trial (IYKYK). I liked and was a little horrified at the author's way of manipulating youtube to regularly see reminders of the fragility of life and the need to live it away from screens.
  11. A tad long, but interesting to me and maybe others. Might even stimulate a conversation. https://www.thefp.com/p/social-media-shortens-your-life-heres-how-to-get-time-back?r=px8hr&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false
  12. Thanks for sharing this @felser Personally I liked the Sonny Clark the first time I heard it - Japanese CD I think I found at Tower or HMV in NYC - but I plan going on a BN kick for my MP3 player/daily walks and think I will revisit next week.
  13. Well it was enjoyable to find out that the Yankees trio of just-acquired relievers each failed in their shocking collapse in Miami last night but in the bigger scheme of things, this is way worse: The Sox two best starters in 2024, Tanner Houk and Kutter Crawford, both now undergoing the knife, with Houk looking at TJ surgery. And taking place August of an already lost season, he is surely done for all of 2026 too. This on top of another emerging starters, Dobbins, being lost to an ACL tear that will surely keep him out to mid-season next year at best. The GM has to look at starting pitching in November.
  14. I'll second the nomination of #9 as Gene/Three Sounds. Might be able to figure out if someone names the tune.
  15. An hour to go and all the Red Sox have to show is a former Mets pitcher who is probably 3 years past his prime .... not an impact bullpen arm let alone a starting pitcher. While the Yanks have added a true impact closer who they will control thru 2026 among other additions. I really don't want to see any of the young stars up to an including Duran be sent away but pretty much all of the names are off the board aren't they? My guess is Severino, another pitcher past his prime, is their target. If the cost is prospects, not major league roster, fine. Otherwise this season is what it is ... including devastating losses to what was supposed to be serious pitching depth.
  16. Unfortunately Dan has been off the BFT trail for a couple of months. And unfortunate for me as I surely would have enjoyed the tracks prior to that apparent abomination.
  17. Definitely a fan, and one of the better talents to come out of the Wynton orbit. I have several of his Negel Heyer releases and definitely second The Search.
  18. Will these get the clearance treatment some day in the future like the others did? I wouldn't pay $35 a piece but if they were 1/2 that plus shipping I'd consider it. (And I am pleased to say that the ones I did get on close out are fitting quite a bit better since I dropped the poundage and are back in regular rotation. Will probably start running them thru the drier cause I don't really need them to keep their size anymore.)
  19. Very sad news to wake up to ... I knew Rhyno had been sick but didn't know the cancer had returned.
  20. Pretty sure Chris's work was on Bessie Smith and his criticism of things like Lady Sings The Blues was based on personal knowledge, not published research?
  21. I don't recall this ...
  22. Thanks for that link ... another great trumpeter getting the bio treatment in early 2026: Kenny Dorham.
