  1. When Marchel got that stopped, how did Durham react, both attitudinally and musically? Did he play better, and did he looked pissed. "Dude, I know its your gig but that's my thing. Don't fuck with my thing."
  2. No biggie my friend!
  3. and what's his problem? Or, what's your problem with him?
  4. I agree and think the point made by Cary is also a good one. If Rouse was that bad what does it say about Monk that he kept him so long? Reliability isn't that valuable if he truly sucked.
  5. You better put on a helmet if you're going to say that, Simon. Don't you know that Monk, as a Genius, never submitted a pedestrian or over-long solo but Rouse, as a hack, or at best, a dependable work-a-day musician, always soloed too long with diminishing returns?
  6. 10 seconds? How about a second or less? Methinks Chewy must be in love, if Jeffrey Osborne is getting to him.
  7. I hate to go back on my word but since you asked: If Bobby Valentine becomes the manager of the Boston franchise of the American League, I will cease to follow that team at all until such time as he is fired. And you can take that to the bank.
  8. Finally looked on AMG - the Swiss Radio Days releases were from the 1960 band with Shorter. I don't see any indication this has been issued officially but as it turns out a FLAC copy was posted almost three years ago on Dime. So no need for a 64 KB download. But if you don't do Dime or missed it, this is an excellent set. The Swiss Radio Days series on the TCB label is legit and is offering some great music! Should be bought, not (illegally) downloaded! http://www.tcb.ch/cms/cms.cgi?prm=Green%20Spine%20%28Swiss%20Radio%20Days%20Jazz%20Series%29&short=1&cfg=1&sort=a&tmpl=style|style|id&list=style|artist|catnr There are a few there that I still need... Only noticing this now .. Ubu I never implied that the TCB releases shouldn't be bought if its possible to get it elsewhere. The Dime set isn't what they put out but anyone interested in the show that is on the crooks site should seek out what was available on Dime for much better sound.
  9. In all honesty I only listened briefly on the PC speakers (which are better than most but not the same as what is in my listening room). But it strikes me as at least decently engineered if not better, and if there is extra music on this reissue then its definitely more than worth it.
  10. Soundboard. No idea if it was released at the time. Stereo with bass panned hard right.
  11. I had it in a different version with a yellow cover, purchased from the Bastards if I recall - on Norma Records, and recorded in 1967. Pretty short disc. Different because he's in a kind of Gene Harris/Ramsey Lewis/Les McCann bag - I used it on my first BFT and got a lot of Ramsey Lewis or Gene Harris guesses. I dig it, but then again I was formerly known as the Gene Harris Fanatic.
  12. Let me get this right - you don't care, so no one else should? You determine what is important and what isn't? I thought it was egotistical when you posted in the Sandusky thread "is this all you have to say about my points?" but this just proves it. You've got a Grade-A ego, pal and need to give it a rest.
  13. Your way behind, Tim. Everyone of my comments has been about the Assistant who witnessed the rape of a ten year old. Try to keep up, huh?
  14. "Heartless monster" - this is the problem with the push-back from people who don't agree with what I've said. No one is saying he's a heartless monster. We all reserve that description for Sandusky. But he had a choice in that moment, and for some time thereafter. He had three choices: 1. Walk away and process what he saw, and take action after consulting his father (what he did). 2. Stop Sandusky from raping the child. 3. Walk away (while his brain circuits were supposedly fried), then process what he saw and still put a stop to it. He could have gone back, found them, taken custody of the child, told Sandusky he saw what he did, and get the cops. Even in the presence of the authority figure trying to sweet-talk him, you don't think he'd find the back-bone to say "you raped this child" (not to mention that the kid, in the presence of another adult trying to help him, would step forward and say what was done to him). So this idea of giving him so much empathy or understanding ... one may understand his actions as a human reaction. It doesn't mean we simply say "he did what he could at the moment" or that he shouldn't have done something different.
  15. Definitely in the UK, but for them to do much in the U.S. with that pesky First Amendment that they hide behind for their "religion". And anyway I'm sure the ACLU would defend me. I'm a card-carrying member, doncha know.
  16. Last comment (I hope) on McQueary: How did he feel when Second Mile announced in 2008 that he wouldn't be allowed to be involved with their kids anymore? "You mean, he's been raping little boys since 2002?" Is that what made him speak to the police on his own? Did he in fact come forward about what he saw then? I am sure he regretted his lack of action or at least follow-up.
  17. Scientology isn't just a cult, its a criminal organization.
  18. Let's consider this another way: "I witnessed a hideous felony committed against a child." "Did you try to stop it?" "No, I went home, consulted with my Dad, then spoke to my supervisor the next day." Seriously, I cannot remotely comprehend why we can't agree that he had a choice to stop the scum bag in the act, chose not to, and agree that wasn't the best choice. And again, if he stops the pedophile in the act, there is no he-said/she-said and he doesn't become the Washed-Up Lunatic QB Who Made Shit Up. He's a hero. Instead, he missed a chance to stop a felony in progress, then he strictly adhered to the GoodSpeak Law, i.e., send it up the chain of command and then try to forget what you saw.
  19. Where did I write anything about McQueery's reaction being out of the range of "normal" or any damn thing about "normal" whatever that is? All I said is that he saw a horrific crime going on. He knew it was terrible at that moment, because he left and called his father and broke down on the phone. He had a choice, and he chose to walk away and leave that kid to his fate, when he could have stopped what was happening right then.
  20. What sticks in my mind is that the graduate assistant had the greatest personal failure. He heard what sounded like sexual activity in the showers. But Sandusky wasn't boffing an 18 year old cheerleader, he was raping a ten year old, and the assistant could see all of these facts. How could he not physically intervene and stop it? If you physically stop the assault, restrain Sandusky and call the cops, there are no repercussions. There's no cover up. The kid is scarred for life but at least some adult stopped what was happening. But when the kid tells the cops what was done to him, and you have the physical evidence of sexual assault, its Game, Set and Match. Retaliation by anyone, including Paterno, would never happen. McCreery failed in the biggest moment of his life. Following up the day after doesn't alter that.
  21. You're woefully misinformed, Jon. These are the facts: In 1998, Sandusky was accused of molestation. Nothing came of it but he retired shortly thereafter at the age of 55, in his coaching prime, and never pursued another coaching spot in college or the pros (we know why he was so much more interested in running his "charity"), this despite the fact he had previously been regarded as Paterno's likely succesor and certainly as potential head coach elsewhere if he pursued it. So in 2002, when the events that ultimately led to this current scandal happened, Sandusky was not on staff, but he did have full access to university and team facilities. In the wake of the graduate assistant report of what he saw, Sandusky was simply banned from the facilities. So really there are two issues here: It sounds like in 1998 Penn State knew what his predilictions were, and simply wanted him off the staff, kids be damned. Did he go back to the charity because other schools heard whispering about him? In the same way, in 2002, Penn State essentially said to him "whatever you do to those kids, don't do it on our property again." Shameful.
  22. Yeah the whole university is going to be shut down. What the fuck are you smoking?
  23. Music is likely to be tasty though. and with that title you get this on the CD Universe page:
