  1. Forget Serena ... Maria Sharapova leads off the night matches. Now that's a Did I just hear that Andre and Steffi's little girl is named "Jazz"? I wonder who came up with that name.
  2. IMO, 2-liters are best consumed at once (preferably by a group or at a belching contest), or not at all. Those things never do work out otherwise. (( cents on sale? Hey, great price. But then you're stuck with some flat, nasty shit before too long and then how good of a deal was it? Not very, that's how good it was. I've bought two liter bottles since college. I guess for me bubbles just aren't that important to the soft drink experience.

  5. Anyone notice how ESPN is promoting three or four different ways to catch the Seminoles take on Miami on Monday night? ESPN - has the regular broadcast ESPN2 - has multiple camera angles, including isolation cameras ESPNU (I think) - has the "skycam" angle with audio from the radio broadcast I'm guessing though that ESPN2 will only look good if you've got something bigger than our set's 25 inch screen.
  6. If they're headed from CT to NC and made it to the Bronx, how the hell did they get back to Greenwich? They should be somewhere in NJ, not back in CT. edit: I just saw that earlier you said they were in NJ ... how the hell did they get to the Bronx and then CT? Now I get it ... they are on the way to CT to get their stuff.
  7. Stumbled across this (in less than stellar condition) and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if its something to track down. Looks like, wild, wacky stuff to me.

  9. Ah, now the truth comes out! I can respect what you say ... just don't quite agree with it.

  11. You have an exceptionally unique definition of cell phone usage as "iniquitous, depraved, evil, immoral, corrupt." Do people fart in your space every day? Yeah, I bet they do. Have they sinned, too? People aren't "conditioned" to have their phones with them at all times - they need their phones with them at all times - for business;, to be able to communicate for whatever reason at a moment's notice. I kept my cell phone with me at all times last week because my brother was in the hospital. Am I "corrupted"? My VO gigs come via cell phone. My wife's mortgage brokerage business depends on her cell phone. Are we "corrupted"? Your only legitimate gripe is about people who speak loudly into their cell phones in public places. Everything else you claim is completely
  12. I agree about tradition and history at Wimbledon making it the number 1 Slam. but I have to rank the US Open over the French. Its a tougher environment to perform in, even acknowledging the fact that clay makes play grueling and nearly endless at the French. I love tennis on the clay. The clay makes matches very unpredictable with fantastic rallies . It is always impossible to predict who is going to win Roland Garros (apart from the last two years) because there are always a lot of upsets. ( unlike at Wimbledon). And the fact that many top players like Stefan Edberg, Mc Enroe, Pete Sampras etc... never won it makes it even more special. It is always a tough one to win. Yeah, but the thing of it is, there are always champions who never do anything elsewhere. What does that say about the tournament? Edberg, McEnroe, Sampras, Borg, Connors ... great players in every other Slam, and winners of many, many tournaments. So a dirt dog won the French ... doesn't get them anything anywhere else.

  17. There are a lot things I'd ask for here but investment advice isn't one of them, particularly asking for a name. That's something I'd go to trustworthy friends/family about.

  19. Thanks for the info, Andrew. I thought that the Philly radio broadcast was familiar but I can't seem to find it in all of the info files I've saved. Looks like its not yet out - absolutedistribution doesn't show it in the list of RLR recordings. Hopefully they'll give enough info that we'll be able to tell that it comes from the '55 appearance, and I'll trust you are right that it isn't Hank. Any idea what appearances might include the other artists mentioned: Art Farmer/Charles Mingus/Art Blakey/Thad Jones?
  20. They are now (absolutedistribution.com redirects to freshsoundrecords.com): http://www.freshsoundrecords.com/catalogue...mp;label_id=140 I went to absolutedistribution.com and searched by Kenny Dorham - the set didn't show up. But now I see that RLR is listed under labels ...
  21. Not a pleasant way to start, but I'm sure it will be just a stressful memory soon enough.
