Wow! What an absolutely tremedous article. Thanks so much. The following really rang true to me: "When you become overly concerned with how well you are performing, the ego becomes involved and self-image become too important." I think the "I don't give a shit" approach is key, as is the "the more you do it, the easier it is" thing. It certainly couldn't hurt to try the nap thing, too.

I performed for the first time in 25 years a couple of nights ago, and I was scared shitless. I'm not sure what happened in the intervening years, but it was pretty rough. I play solo fingerstyle guitar, which is not exactly easy to do when your nervous. Do you guys get nervous when you play? And if so, how do you deal with it? Thanks in advance.
