This one is good. Enjoying it. Very funny lyrics.

Baikida Carroll - Orange Fish Tears "Appreciate" is what I would say too. Some great playing start and finish but altogether too much dicking around on melodica in the middle for my tastes. Leave the children's toys to Mr. Pablo.

I am anti coffee tables and coffee table books too. But I would like to know if there were any LPs featured that I am missing.

Oh that does look good. I'm always interested in these records. The Japanese and European analogues of Britain's Tubby Hayes, Joe Harriott or Dick Morrissey. Like Britain perhaps the more creative stuff came after 1968, but the Europeans and Japanese modernists who came before that point don't seem to have received the same retrospective reissues as the Brits.

What album is this? I can't see a thing on GNP or with that title on Wikipedia or discogs.

I was wondering the same as a not American. What are Pittsburgh's big pull factors?

I do think stuff periodically too. Just three or four days on an all Bert Kaempfert or all Jackie Gleason diet, or something. You do find things out.

Jazztet: Art Farmer and Benny Golson - Big City Sounds Hadn't listened to this one before. Much better sound but just as creative as the first record.

This is very good.

That's my favourite of those I've heard.

Lionel Pillay - Shrimp Boats

Jackie and Roy - Time and Love Truth be told I never really 'got' Jackie and Roy. Periodically revisiting. Woo!!! Interesting. Was this actually a recording of a rehearsal? When are the recordings from? (Discogs is a no say).

Whilst I don't often post my Mann listens, with time, Herbie Mann has been occupying more and more of my listening space. Such a vast, varies and approachable back catalogue, which is almost always fun.

Shorty Rogers And Bill Perkins – Live At The Royal Palms Inn - Volume 5 A nice record that I will revisit. A lot of effort has gone into the arrangements and the two leads play well. Shame about the bass.

What an interesting record. As is often the case with split leader dates, this had completely passed me by. The Sonny Rollins tracks are obviously pretty eye opening, similar to what he would do on the record with Hawkins.

I think you posted this upthread, which was my introduction to this LP. Its become a fast favourite since then. Thanks for the recommendation. I love a list, as they make a great way to get acquainted with things you've missed (although I never cared for the ranking part). Thanks for sharing.
