  1. Sorry. I've tried googling this and got nothing. Geezil is something to do with Popeye? What's Minerva doing here? The goddess?
  2. Yep. I had to Google what it might have meant to a US audience. I guess the British equivalent would be something like "Codger Question".
  3. That rings a bell.
  4. I re-read that Beatles interview he gave a few years ago around once every six months. Those no-playing motherf$¥kers.
  5. Interesting that the Obits so far appear to be missing what I always regarded as two milestones: the excellent George Benson single, which led the way to the Michael Jackson successes, and the slightly dubious (but surely obit-appropriate) fact that his 1960s jazz hits include what would become the Theme to Austin Powers.
  6. This one is excellent. Hot stuff.
  7. Gosh. RIP. Quite aside from the music he was perhaps the greatest interviewee ever.
  8. George Lewis / Douglas Ewart – Jila - Save! Mon. - The Imaginary Suite
  9. Julius Hemphill – Raw Materials And Residuals Actually, the fact that my mother in law is allergic to grandchildren is meaning that I'm getting in lots of listening this weekend whilst childminding.
  10. Jackie Gleason – The Now Sound... For Today's Lovers
  11. Exactly as you say. It is one of my favourite records. Shame about the cover...
  12. Taking advantage of the deafness, as advised.
  13. Khan Jamal Creative Art Ensemble – Drum Dance To The Motherland
  14. Dave Holland and Sam Rivers
  15. I asked him whether he enjoyed the record and he said it was brilliant because it was like when he plays guitar himself. Which i guess is fair. I'm afraid to say it was more about battling lego men than building. Those are such great records. Last one of the session: Sun Ra - Cosmic Tones End of session sadly. My deaf mother in law is with us for a week so opportunities to play music are pretty slim.
  16. Derek Bailey - Aida
  17. Don Cherry - Brown Rice Playing Lego with my eldest this morning. This was his choice.
  18. Joseph Jarman - Song For
  19. Sorry to ask an idiotic question but is "Muzak" the same company as the piped music company of historic fame?
  20. They're all a bit ridiculous. This is the only one that I have hung on to
  21. Archie Shepp - Devil Blues
  22. Incredible String Band – The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter I'm reliably informed that this is the former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams's favourite album.
  23. Bill English - S/T First time listen to this one. Some nifty mod stompers.
  24. This was their other decent record: No entirely disco.
