  1. And now: Milford Graves - Babi
  2. Muhal Richard Abrams - Levels and Degrees of Light
  3. Julius Hemphill - 'C$%n Bid'ness With thanks to @mjazzg
  4. Same. There is a bit of a risk that bluegrass can be repetitive. It needs that feel to really raise it up.
  5. Mal Waldron - The Quest
  6. Pretty much. Very very easy with discogs, but commonly found in the wild too. I own a fair few without ever really having sought them out. Are they rare in the states?
  7. Roscoe Mitchell Creative Orchestra - Sketches from Bamboo
  8. Tony Rice on Backwaters did On Green Dolphin Street and also My Favourite Things. I'm sure there is tons of Bela Fleck stuff. Nice idea for a thread by the way.
  9. Art Ensemble of Chicago - Fanfare for Warriors Thanks! Truth be told that I am feeling a little guilty that I haven't been spinning the free-er stuff recently. I used to play it whilst looking after the kids in the mornings when they were small but nowadays they have stronger opinions about what they want to listen to.
  10. Frank Wright - Your Prayer
  11. Han Bennink / Willem Breuker – New Acoustic Swing Duo First time at home alone for a while, so treating myself to a nice spin of some records I haven't listened to enough whilst filing photographs.
  12. Richie Kamuca and Bill Perkins - Tenors Head On
  13. That is interesting! News to me. I had not realised that it was Austrian originally. I'd never heard of this one but looks great! Lots to listen to.
  14. Document is absolutely great. But I think it is mostly pre-war recordings.
  15. That's interesting. I had noticed that you sometimes appeared to have answers ready to hand in list format, and I wondered whether what lurked behind that was some sort of detailed database. Why live concerts? Is that to review?
  16. Jesse Fuller – Jazz, Folk Songs, Spirituals & Blues
