Is anyone aware of a PD box or album which competes with the legit? I can think of only a Louis Armstrong Hot Fives & Hot Sevens box. It's a mystery to me why Not Now sounds so bad. I thought that the fear of red book digital was that it could be copied endlessly without sound deterioration. So what's Not Now's problem? I would be happy to learn about labels to avoid besides Not Now and Membran.

I am surprised to see George Avakian's name on the label. I remember Chris Albertson telling of the time he was told that if he ever did anything for RCA, he would never again work for Columbia. This recording was made after Avakian's involvement with RCA. Notwithstanding the fact that he was Lloyd's manager, I'm surprised that somebody (William Paley?) let him be involved, and let his name be put on the label.
