Valerie, that photo does have a 1940s look to it, doesn't it? But I'm guessing that the photo was taken about 1963.
-
Hint: Born in 1941, I believe she was a contract player for Warner Bros. television in the early 60s.

Happy Birthday 2011, John! The Argos? Oh, well! -
Gary Muledeer?

I'm really curious about that one! While we're waiting for Jim to give us another clue, let's see if anyone remembers this lady.

Thanks aloc! I'll plan to listen to the Heaths and Roy Hargrove first. -
Is that Ally Sheedy?

The Argos have released Prechae Rodriguez to make room on the roster for Maurice Mann. I suspect that Rodriguez is through. I hadn't realized that the Ticats also let go of Marquay McDaniel, and that the Stamps had picked him up. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/mann-thrilled-to-be-an-argonaut/article2198824/

Jack, you were my last hope! So...It's Nita Talbot! Doesn't anyone remember her? She was on TV all the time.
-
The thing of it is, that's my "period"! I can relate to it much more than what's on TV today.

Happy Birthday 2011 T.D.!

One last try, and then I'll reveal the mystery guest.

It seems rather late in the year to be trading players, but today the Ticats traded Maurice Mann to the Argos. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/argos-acquire-maurice-mann-from-ticats/article2197985/

This week's TSN power rankings are out. Other than the Lions on a seven-game winning streak, I would say that the top five are very close. [1] B.C.: Hold on to top spot for the second week[2] Montreal: Defeat the Argonauts and hang onto No. 2 rank[3] Winnipeg: Remain in third by downing the Tiger-Cats[4] Calgary: Close loss to Lions keeps them in top half[5] Edmonton: Dominant performance moves them up one spot[6] Hamilton: Drop into sixth after failing to beat Bombers[7] Saskatchewan: Three straight embarrassing performances[8] Toronto: Another week, another loss for the Boatmen http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=377869

I see now that the Als and the Stamps have also clinched playoff berths. That leaves the Ticats and the Riders fighting for the last spot. http://stats.sports.theglobeandmail.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=globeandmail&page=cfl/stand/standingAJ.htm

Maybe Jack will get her. Like Ruta Lee, she was a television staple in the late '50s and early '60s. Here's another (later) photo of her.

Netflix has done an about-face, and will not call its DVD service Qwikster, and will not make customers have two accounts. http://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/2011/10/10/netflix-keeps-dvd-service-under-netflix-brand/?test=latestnews

Nope! Here's another hint. In 1961 she was the co-star of The Jim Backus Show aka Hot Off the Wire (or was it Hot Off the Press?).
-
Nope. That's another good guess. Here's another hint. Like Elizabeth Montgomery, she is found on the Johnny Staccato DVD box set.

I agree, Valerie. Think TV. Think unique voice.

Montreal Alouettes 29....Toronto Argonauts 19 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442376 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442384 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442396 Decent game. Anthony Calvillo broke Damon Allen's record for career yards thrown. The loss eliminated the Argos from the playoffs. ***** Edmonton Eskimos 17....Saskatchewan Roughriders 1 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4442400 Durant was dressed but hurt, so Dinwiddie started and played the first half, throwing three interceptions. I think the clock is ticking on Dinwiddie. Durant played the second half and couldn't get anything done either. With the Riders' loss, the Eskimos and the Lions clinched playoff berths.
