  1. The wind snapped off one of my windshield wipers this morning.
  2. Here's someone you might remember.
  3. Calgary Stampeders 38....Montreal Alouettes 31 http://64.246.64.33/...aspx?id=4431456 Another great game this weekend. The Als dominated early, but the Stamps slowly came back and took the lead in the fourth. The Als tied it, and the Stamps won it with 55 seconds left.
  4. Ben is best remembered as Frank Smith, Sgt. Joe Friday's sidekick on Dragnet. He had a major role in All's Quiet on the Western Front. He was a child actor for many years. As I recall, his final role was as a police desk sergeant on an ABC show whose name I don't remember. Because he had that role/commitment, he was unable to join with Jack Webb in the resurrection of Dragnet ca. 1968, so Webb got Harry Morgan instead.
  5. Correct on both counts, Jack! They are Robert Q. Lewis and Ben Alexander.
  6. I think that the older Europeans will recognize post #504, as well as the North Americans. Here's another to think about until I get back. Valerie should get this one, if nobody beats her.
  7. I'm reminded of the Wedding at Cana!
  8. Correct, Jim! Who's this?
  9. Here's another for the Americans.
  10. I listened to this album for the first time in a while today, and I'm confident that it will make my year's Top Ten list. The piano is Henrik Gunde. The guitar is Per Gade.
  11. I listened to this tonight for the first time in a while, and I liked it more than ever. This will go into my regular rotation for a while.
  12. Correct on both counts! Except that his name was Durward.
  13. Yes! But do you remember his name? And do you remember the joke about him on Rocky and Bullwinkle?
  14. Winnipeg Blue Bombers 30....Hamilton Tiger-Cats 27 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4431309 Lots of fun. The first half was windy in Winnipeg, and the team with the wind at its back scored the points. The second half was a seesaw battle.
  15. Happy Birthday Joe!
  16. I'm afraid the Europeans won't get this one.
  17. Correct, Chuck and Jim! I vaguely remember her television show Life with Elizabeth.
  18. On a happier note, who is this beauty?
  19. Here's a Matt Sekeres analysis of the former CFL players currently trying out with NFL teams. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/crunch-time-for-cflers-in-nfl-camps/article2144328/
  20. Correct, Paul. I have to think that Jobs is near the end, and resigned for that reason. Well, at least he has his chance to make peace with his Maker. That photo was taken today.
  21. Umar Ali Week 9 preview http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4431152
