  1. I remember seeing Eddie perform at least 20 years ago at a gig when I lived in Kingston, New York. I had an opportunity to talk to him briefly during a break and bought a cassette of one of his recordings. I told him anyone who played with Howlin' Wolf was ok in my book.
  2. Purchased this the other day and now listening to disc 1 . A Sea Symphony.
  3. I went through some boxes a few weeks ago and dug out all my classical music collection. I now have it all separated from all of my other music. So hopefully I can dig back into some of this going forward. Hoping to hear more from this Shostakovich collection.
  4. Symphony No. 12 "The Year 1917"
  5. I guess that is always a consideration. I'd much prefer the hard copy version if possible. Let's see what happens here first. I'm in no hurry. Thanks.
  6. I already own 2 of Junior's other Steeplechase releases "On A Misty Night" and " The Place To Be" and both are excellent, IMO. Like to pick "You Leave Me Breathless" for a more affordable price. Amazon is asking around $20 including shipping. Anybody here that can do better? Thought it was worth the effort since many of you guys have come through for me in the past. Thanks.
  7. I really enjoy Junior's Steeplechase releases.
  8. I bet that's pretty good. One additional thought. I really enjoy the playing of Marc Copland who plays on the Blue Note release. Someone I want to hear more of.
  9. Ok, not a new guy but a person new to my ears recently and I like what I hear. I just picked up his Blue Note release No Words from '94 and am thinking of adding a few more selections. Most notably Audible Architecture interest me. What do guys think? Like him/not? Let's hear some thoughts on what I think is a pretty good trumpet player.
  10. Thanks to Lon for recommending this. Just started listening to this and I like what I hear. Not bad for 99 cents via Dusty Groove.
  11. Awesome!! I just made the purchase on the Dusty Groove. Thanks Lon for the headsup. Thanks also for the recommendations on the Fresh Sounds. I will also take into consideration the Dragon issues. I'm presently listening to Volume 8 on Spotify and I enjoy what I'm hearing.
  12. Since I don't own any of his material, would these be a good starting point? I realize some folks despise Fresh Sound releases but you get a lot of bang for the bucks on these 4 cd sets. Thoughts are appreciated.
  13. Not sure if anyone else will take up the task, but your efforts were appreciated here. Thank you!
