  1. Up for broadcast now.
  2. That must have been well before Prince released "Batdance." Well, Miles said a lot of things!
  3. Miles once called him the Duke Ellington of our time...
  4. Isn't there more to life than the "Stupid Questions Corner"?
  5. What kind of too-much-time-on-their-hands no-accounts would keep posting here?
  6. Is this silly thread still going?
  7. Some news from Elliott's father about the posthumous CD (FROM A BASEMENT ON THE HILL), posted to Sweet Adeline: In the meantime, I think I've posted this link before, but be sure to check out this site.
  8. Earlier discussion here. Hope my Hat CDs don't turn to flame for saying this, but I've fallen off the "bash-Krall" bandwagon with this latest release.
  9. The Benedetti/Charlie Parker box will never expire. Is this correct? I checked the Mosaic discography but, unless I missed it, could find no release date on the Benedetti box. Correct in theory, as Mosaic actually owns the material in the Benedetti/Parker set, as opposed to having leased it.
  10. BENNY'S BOP is indeed another good one. Just got the new Woody Herman Hep release, ROAD BAND 1948. Almost no, if any, overlap with the live Herman CD from 1948 that I already have, and lots of solos from Getz, Chaloff, Sims, etc. No November 1949 Carnegie Hall concert, though, as promoted earlier--maybe on a forthcoming issue?
  11. I'm doing a show today at WFIU from 3:30-5:00 p.m. that will feature both of the Joe Mooney Heps and the recent Fantasy MJQ box (THE COMPLETE PRESTIGE AND PABLO RECORDINGS.
  12. I have THE MUMMY DVD that came out several years ago, and it's fantastic. Has anybody found the set for less than $56? I did a search two weeks ago, and that was the best price I could find (from both Deep Discount DVD and Amazon).
  13. Congratulations, man! To both you and your wife.
  14. I'll probably be snagging this set as well. I saw most of these as a kid on a Friday-night Indianapolis show hosted by "Sammy Terry," a ghoulish guy with a spider named George. (Sammy chatted regularly with the dangling George and made awful puns about the evening's movie feature.) It came on at either 10:30 or 11:30, but my parents usually let us stay up, since it wasn't a school night.
  15. yes, the first quote was from me. I guess I kind of got over ambitious, which made me seem like I was a 'know it all' kind of person. Which I am not. So like, I hope you guys can forgive me, for my early posts. I do wish to contribute. Glad to see you out and about in these parts, Geoff! Just beware of the "Stupid Questions" thread.
  16. Do you mean, the hip, sound of today? Exactly. A dried out door hinge. Why do you ask? With a sampler, you could make music with it. You should see all the songs I used my old refrigerator on. Do you prefer electric or acoustic fridge? Is that a Sears fridge? What are you Dionne Warwick??? No, but she is a psycho friend of mine. Where can I find a decent psycho friend at an affordable price? I've got some. You can have them for free. Just take them away from here. Are they still sealed? No, they're only in good condition. Honest seller. Item as described. A pleasure to deal with. Is there any way out of this ever-expanding maze?
  17. Is Wynton not the greatest trumpeter of all time?
  18. Is Paul dead?
  19. Which one of you is Pink?
  20. Should we be surprised that today's top 5 posters have all been posting in this thread?
  21. Who here has read every single post in this thread?
  22. Is it true that this thread alone is rapidly pushing the board towards the 150,000 post mark?
  23. Can such an impossible pace be maintained?
  24. Is this a record?
  25. ...and that 8 posts were made at 6:45?
