I won't. I'm keeping my eyes peeled now for any Dawn recordings. Just wish I would've gotten hip to this label five years ago.

So Wild Kitten came in the mail today and it went right into the player...I have to say that everything that was said about Matthews is quite accurate. I had no idea that an accordian could swing in a bop setting. Puma's tone is really rich and full-bodied too (sounds like I'm describing shampoo now) and it has Oscar Pettiford on it to boot. What a solid date. And you're right King Ubu, this label has a lot of great acts on it as indicated on the reverse of the booklet. I remember seeing the Cohn and Jazz Modes years ago at tower, and now I really wished I would've picked them up.

What a great accomplishment! Great album cover too.

Ditto re: Black Saint. Been exploring all those releases thanks to eMusic. Etudes is excellent as well! Yeah, a treasure trove of great music. I barely scratched the surface with these labels and preactically everything I've heard so far has been top-notch.

Hard to believe its been over a year since Donald's death. An interesting trumpeter who brought a different sound to Ayler's music.

Yeah, Kenny's great. I especially love his collaboration with Joe Henderson during the BN era, and his own BN albums weren't too shabby either.

Great set, which to my knowledge, three of them are not available as single us releases.

HB Ozzy Also a big fan of the Sabbath records with Ozzy on it, especially Sabotage. Those early solo up to Speak of the Devil were really good too. After that, whatever.

Totally forgot about Reckless Records. Went to the location near downtown (not the loop) a couple of years ago, and I spent a good hour going through their selections (which were really good) and walked away with about $100 in cd's. I bought one of their cd's on-line and was not expecting to pay nearly $6 in shipping charges, so I never bought a cd from them on line again.

There's a few places that I really enjoy shopping at. On top of the list is: Paul's CD's in Pittsburgh (hands down, the best jazz stock around, and a great used section) Exchanges throughout the area of Pittsburgh and Cleveland (found plenty of gems at decent prices) Half Price Books (another great place to frequent when the occasional gems come rolling through, like when someone brought in 3 boxes of jazz cds) And that's about it. All the Borders in the area are terrible and B&N are overpriced. Its really sad if you like the old brick and mortor stores, and really don't care to shop on line. Its becoming a thing of the past.
