  1. If you like Destination...Out! You'll LOVE One Step Beyond.
  2. Hmmm.......they seem to be all Prestige/New Jazz titles, yet that seems an awful lot for an RVG batch
  3. And despite all the deletions, its still nice to see that there's a reissue program.
  4. I'm looking forward to the other Leo Parker as I just got Let Me Tell You 'Bout It yesterday for Christmas. Also looking forward to the Parlan; finally nice to something other than the Parlan Conns that have already seen reissue. Any opinions on the Turrentine?
  5. A bunch of RVG's and Conns, a new dress shirt, belt and a good pair of black socks
  6. Fan of both Woody and Dexter, two great masters. Thanks for posting this.
  7. Have you ever checked out Wolf Eyes or their kin? No, as a matter I haven't. Details please
  8. Got the Cox Blue Note for Christmas; can't wait to hear it.
  9. Do all the Blue Notes on Liberty count?
  10. Well guess what...we've switched back to snow and had a white Christmas afterall
  11. Miles Davis Quintet w/ Bob Dorough-Blue Christmas
  12. Didn't know about this one...are they sleeved with the original artwork? I always like the RCA Sonny Rollins album covers.
  13. A number of RVG's: Jackie McLean-Demon's Dance Sam Rivers-Extensions and Dimensions Leo Parker-Let Me Tell You 'Bout It Bud Powell-Bud! Hank Mobley-Hi Voltage! And the Kenny Cox Conn
  14. Who knows? I'm always hoping to stumble on some new sounds that I've never heard before.
  15. Of course, the snow has melted right before Christmas morning
  16. Gusting winds and yet more snow! White Christmas seems quite promising.
  17. Not perfect, but a darn good price for a date that's kinda hard to find these days... half.com Edit: Not what you were looking for, but FWIW, I just found an extra copy of Patton's "Accent on the Blues" in my pile of duplicates. (The other half of the 'bonus' date from "Memphis to New York Spirit" is on "Accent on the Blues".) Yeah, if you see a copy at a decent price, get it get it get it. This is one of Big John's biggest badazz records, with Understanding being number one for me. D caven: I saw a copy at a store near me for five bucks (promo sticker on it and scratches) but if you want it, I'll check back to see if its there. The price if $5 + shiipping.
  18. Agree. I really miss the days when Tower was really, really good. They even had a whole aisle devoted to jazz. This was at least 10 years ago of course.
  19. Yeah, an unusual move by Universal to put out such a great batch of avant garde titles. My guess, is that this is all we're going to see of any future Free America titles in the future, at least in cd form.
  20. This is great news because I'm taking my kids to Disney World for a week in March! Man, I'm really missing actually shopping in an actual store!
  21. Just dug out and finished by pissing my initials in the snow..

    Jim Hall

In total agreement. In fact, I think I like Hall more as a contributor than as leader, I think in that context, is where Hall gets interesting.
  23. 8 Degrees here too. Raging blizzard with of course, a cozy fire inside with wife and friends playing the game Friends
