  1. Hey - you guys gotta come across the lake to Green Bay - here's some spots: Luna Cafe - contact Mark Patel - www.lunacafe.com Iq's - www.iqsbar.com The Lazy Gecko (formerly Gallagher's) in DePere (5 min south of GB) PI - Mark Martin, contact Hope to see you here in GB.
  2. I remember talk a while back either on here or on the infamous BNBB about John Mayer and his pseudo-blashpemous album title 'Room for Squares' (cuz we know that ther ain't right?) Anyway, with the release of his new cd with his blues trio - he doesn't have to worry about being denied admission, cuz there's room for this guy. If you are into old style John Lee Hooker style blues, this probably won't light you up. But if you dig a SRV-Hendrix style vibe, this is a cd you'd enjoy. It's a totally gutsy move, too - he could've just released another album of his female-friendly pop, but instead he goes out on a limb, puts together a blues trio, and pumps out this live CD. I'm listenin to it right now - it totally grooves - his guitar tone is sweet-dirty-warm-bluesy, and his voice has a great smokey gutteral quality to it - not hushed and whispery like I've heard before. I thinks it's pretty cool that the album packaging plays tribute (or borrows from, depending on how you look at it) Cannonball's Something Else - the liners even look Blue Note-esque and its packaged like a JRVG - cool. Hey, and it's $8.99 until the end of the day at Circuit City - can't beat it. Give this guy a chance and check it out - it's iPod worthy.
  3. Thanks all y'all
  4. Hi, thought I'd try one more time - I know they sell these at WalMart, and Target for sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. I know the head - and that there aren't many changes. Fm9 Dbm9 Cb13?
  6. I believe they are legit, as they have the nfl logo and are sold at major retailers - the Packers prosecute those who sell knock-offs, and there hasn't been any trouble with these from what I undersatand. They are just a more budget conscious way of wearing jerseys of your favorite players. Target has them online, just not the players I'm looking for. Thanks for the info.
  7. Kind of an odd request I know. Here in Green Bay at various retail stores (Target, ShopKo, etc) they sell Packers jerseys that are around $30 and have the player's name and number on the back, number on the front and team logo on the side. They have a red or white NFL tag where the size tag would be. They have 8-10 of the marquee players represented with one of these jerseys. I have a feeling that these jerseys are made for all the teams because I have seen other team jerseys of the exact same style online. I was wondering if anyone in the Bay Area would be able to pick up 2 Size Large Oakland Raiders jerseys of this style for me - Kerry Collins #5 and LaMont Jordan #34 - as these aren't available here (wonder why ) or online anywhere I've seen. I'm not even sure these are available at all, but just putting this out there in case they are. I'll gladly reimburse to you all costs and include a jazz oriented thank you. I'm including a picture of a Randy Moss jersey of this style as a visual reference to what I'm talking about. Lemme know if you can help me out - thank you in advance.
  8. No, I'd rather have a KGB jersey

  16. I've recently been gettin' into James Brown, and all I gotta say is ' whoah'! and 'da-hay-am'! I realize now that a lot of music I've listened to over the years that I thought was funky wasn't even close! 'sall bout the ONE! Picked up a cd called Motherlode - all previously unreleased cuts and stuff - whoo does that thing groove. Also been gettin into Sly - fun-kay as well. Anyone else out there groovin' on James or Sly?
  17. There is a setting in the burning tab of preferences I believe where yo can select 'no pause between tracks' - this should burn the cd smooth with no noticeable gaps
  18. Forgot to mention that once David Sanchez came on stage - they played 2 of the previously unreleased tracks from Song X - Police People and the Good Life (I think) - good stuff nonetheless.
  19. wish I could've seen that epic struggle - on tv, not live - I'm not an idiot (or lunch)
  20. WOW! That's all I have to say - Metheny with Antonio Sanchez and Christian McBride with David Sanchez. Played a good mix of old and new - as in not tiles yet - material including Lone Jack, James, Q&A, a tune from the Meth/Sco collaboration and some other stuff. Metheny was ripping, subtle, and over the top at the same time - highlight was the extended guitar synth solo going into a spacy outro - too bad I can't remember the name of the tune! Antonio Sanchez - one of the best drummers on the scene, so tasty, so dynamic, and just solid. I have a new respect for Christian McBride - didn't know he could play like THAT - great stuff. David Sanchez - unfortunately, all I have to say is "why?" For me, he added absolutely nothing and actually took away from the experience - it was obvious to me he was a bit intimidated, maybe even frightnend, by the guys he was playing with, who are leaps abounds way ahead in the journey. His tone was kind of weak and none of his solos were that inspiring. I would've preferred a) a different sax player b) no sax player c) keys - piano, b3, rhodes Cool theater, too - only like 400 seats or so (I think) - nice venue Pat did a touching tribute to Michael Brecker and urged folks to check out his need and see if they can help. All in all, a fantastic show that I would recommend you go to if they come to your town - you could even leave 30 minutes early (when David comes on stage) and you won't miss much .
  21. Hey guys- Fall is in the air, life is settling down, and I feel like I can come back to the board (as if anyone missed me, right?) I've been lurking but haven't seriously participated in a while. Had a baby boy in April - Braden Morgan Whitney - yes the 'Lee' reference is intentional - he was really colicy (sp?) and difficult at first, but now he's a normal baby well, as normal as they get, I guess. He may have the same kidney problem as his oldest brother, but only time will tell. Anyway, it's good to be back, and I look forward to the usual info and banter I've come to love at org.org
  22. Good luck at the gig tonight -Schenectady is where I was born and raised for 21 years.

  24. My thoughts exactly - they're like the ugly sister you go out with because the pretty one is busy
