So, basically the prosecution had people who claimed that Blake discussed having his wife killed, but couldn't make any connection to the crime other than the circumstantial evidence and the fact that it wasn't exactly a strong marriage. I tend to agree with Allen - the prosecution didn't have much of a case and apparently they couldn't push the ball past "beyond and to the exclusion of all reasonable doubt". I'm 100% with Dan on this. Not to mention that the two main "people who claimed Blake discussed having his wife killed" were a paranoid delusional coke addict and a paranoid delusional meth addict, both of whom have other proceedings pending against them in the same jurisdiction... I was just joking around earlier. If I'd have actually been on the jury, I probably wouldn't have been able to find him guilty either. He's definitely guilty of bad acting as a little kid in the Our Gang comedies, but I think there was too much that you could reasonably doubt in this case.

an odd question - Ordering 2 sets?
AfricaBrass replied to tranemonk's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I remember that. So, you never found it? -
The theme from "Baretta" just doesn't work anymore. He didn't have to do his time.

STOP ABUSING MY IMAGE STOP ABUSING MY IMAGE STOP A

I view this all as a form of performance art. It's quite entertaining. I've viewed Aric as a brilliant performance artist for a long time. Now SS1 is working his art. It's beautiful. This stuff is too good to be real. I wonder what the name of this piece is? -
Dowd was incredible - a great loss... -_- I never knew about Dowd's contribution until I saw that recent film about him. Wow! Thanks again for all the information!

Happy Birthday Berigan!

My best wishes go out to you and your family, Berigan. I hope you are all feeling better soon! -
Are those 11's, Jeff? I think you told me before, but I forgot. Yes, I'm using 11's on my Epiphone Casino and had them on my DeArmond jazzbox. I like flatwound 11's. On my non-flatwound strung guitars, I used D'Addario XL roundwound 10's.
-
I've heard that Pyramid flatwounds are the best strings out there. They're a little too pricey for me, so I've been using the D'Addario chromes.

Hey! I'm a Capricorn... Or should I say Crapricorn.

Welcome to the board, Rob! I'll do this. I really enjoy your dad's music. I too hope you return; I'd love to hear stories, etc... I know some musicians families have been releasing unreleased recordings. Is that something your family are doing or have plans to do? Just curious...

Welcome to the board, Greg! I did it. I'm a proud member of the Organissimo street team.

Thanks for all your help! :rsmile:

I wasn't around when stereo was first introduced and I'm interested in finding out when the transition to stereo occured. I know Blue Note first released stereo recordings in 1959 with the 4000 series, but what about the other labels? When did they release their first stereo lps? Thanks!

Happy Birthday Berigan!

I wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Berigan!!! I hope you have a good one! -
I feel like that little chicken hawk after Foghorn Leghorn has given him a lecture. The Agiles IMO are much higher quality than the SX guitars. The Agiles are made in Korea vs. the SX's being made in China and seem to be made of better wood and hardware. I think everything about them is a step up over the SX's. That said, those SX Fender copies are a great bang for the buck guitar, especially for beginners, or people who like to change out electronics and do their own modifications.
-
Thanks Chris! I'm glad you've kept your avatar all this time, too.
-
Sure--everyone needs to have FORTY-TWO guitars. I don't have that many... Ron, you asked about the SX basses earlier. Sorry about the late reply, they sell for just $110 (for a P-bass copy). They are made in China, but for the money they are a great deal. I'd say if a person buys one, to plan on getting it setup, and maybe upgrading the electronics, but beyond that they feel pretty good for such cheap basses. I like them better than Fender's budget line Squier basses which sell for almost twice as much.

Yeah, NOW he says he HOPES you like it, after setting the trap and pushing you in for the kill (with a little help from the rest of us). At least I know he's played that model... it always makes me nervous when I recommend something... I'd buy one of those...
-
Good for you. And remember: it's cheap! Congrats Joe! I hope you like it.

I agree.

I'm listening to the Paul Kantner/Jefferson Starship album, Blows Against The Empire, from 1970. Now that's my kind of space travel.

As for the ' Le Tour' I am impressed that you seem to know what this is And I am sick of Lance Armstrong winning So how can we fix it that Lance or the 'Americans' do not win, and we can see some purpose in Space? Che. Why is there all the hate for Lance? Is it because he's a cocky guy from Texas?
-
I'm with you, Clem. I think fixing the Earth should be a top concern. I feel sorry for any other race of creatures off this world who would run across us. That's why I said we have a long way to go. If we ruin this planet, why do we deserve to be able to go and ruin other ones? Both of my grandfathers worked for NASA and I grew up loving this stuff. Maybe I'm a little romantic about it all. I just don't see why they're scrapping stuff like the Hubble Telescope and concentrating on a manned mission to Mars. But... if they really would take the money from the space program and really use it for constructive concerns, I'd support that. If they're just going to waste it on a war or something negative, then I'd rather keep the space program. In truth, I believe NASA has lost their way.

One thing that came out of the space race was the increase in technology. Personally, I don't see any reason to go to Mars. I'm all for good telescopes and satellites. Well how about the view that one day we (the human race) will need to have 'space' to expand? As we (mainly the US) use up our natural resourses, and we find ourselves in a situation in which we may not be able to feed ourselves, the logical answer is to expand into 'space'. Are you familier with the 'Martian Chronicles' by Ray Bradbury? This maybe a view of what will happen? Che. Yes, I'm familiar with Bradbury. You're right, we may need to expand into Space. I just hope that we can develop new resources that don't deplete that planet before that happens. I guess I hold the view that if a race gets proficient enough, they will leave the planet eventually. I just don't think we're there yet. We've got a lot of growing to do.
