  1. Probably a pretty good idea. Since I already own the McLean Mosaic, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy a Conn with just Consequence on it. But if it included all the High Frequency tracks too, I'd certainly give it some thought. I'd buy it too.
  2. I like Brubeck. My favorite recordings of his are with Paul Desmond. I don't listen to him that much, but I still gave him a thumbs up. I saw him perform around 10 years ago and really enjoyed it.
  3. I bet he studied a LOT of tapes to make sure this was really happening...
  4. Nicolas Cage as leading man/action hero is pretty sad. I'd actually rather see Keanu Reeves than NC. I used to dig NC when he made offbeat films, but once he got his teeth capped, it was over... I actually saw his movie Con Air in the theatre (because I used to like his movies), but that was it. Stick a fork in it.
  5. Clem, that was Jazzmoose who said it was his favorite PKD book. I enjoy most of his writing, but I really like his later books. I haven't read any PKD in about eight years. I think it's about time. Let's see my favorites, were probably Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said, Ubik, and the triology of his last three books; Valis, The Divine Invasion, and the Transmigration of Timothy Archer. I also loved the volumes of his short stories. I loved the stuff he came up with. I guess I like some of his later work is that I've wrestled with this kind of stuff myself in my own way. It's funny you mentioned Jodorowsky's El Topo and Holy Mountain. I wish those would get re-released. I have them on video somewhere (copied from a Japanese laserdisc years ago). They are real favorites of mine. Then you mention Dennis Hopper's Last Movie. I thought I was the only one in the world who dug that film. Yeah... I used to be a head.
  6. That whole album is good. I haven't heard it in awhile and I listened to it today. I forgot how good it was, especially the Atom Heart Mother Suite.
  7. You aren't the only one. I actually enjoy Atom Heart Mother more than Meddle (just slightly). I know they say the suite was a failure, but I love it. I've spent many hours listening to this album on vinyl and cd (I have the Mobile Fidelity version of it eeeevun). Okay, I'm not in love with Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, but Fat Old Sun is one of my all-time favorite Gilmour tracks and I enjoy the contrast on If between the pretty music and Water's nutter lyrics. I think the cover is so fitting for this album. It is pastoral. I like Meddle, but my favorite track is Echoes and I actually prefer the Pompeii version of it.
  8. THANK YOU Kevin!!!! I'm so happy about the prosect of the Quebec. The others you listed are great also. I'm going to be buying all of these this time around. Thanks for your help in gettng the Gigolo out as an RVG.
  9. I'm glad it's a good set. I'm hoping to get it for my son soon.
  10. That's obviously not true, but still... don't sell short the importance of "a laugh or two." Your posts will be missed, but I'm glad to hear that you're not really going anywhere. There's nothing wrong with taking a break, but if we see you start hanging around AAJ there's gonna be hell to pay! CHEERS! I agree with RDK. I enjoyed your presence here. I hope you'll be back someday.
  11. Al the DVD is really good... now I have an idea how to repay for that Allman Brothers...
  12. Are they any relation to keeperofbeets?
  13. Ghost - we must be psychic! No kidding! Great wasted minds and all that? I don't know if you saw my original post. I had the same picture right underneath your post. Weird and wacky stuff! Here's Syd from 2002:
  14. Maybe this is the reason I like early Pink Floyd so much. I don't think it was overly gloomy until the later albums. Actually, Roger Waters was always gloomy, but in the beginning he didn't have as much influence.
  15. Here's a good Syd Barrett story: Ghost - we must be psychic!
  16. I'm a HUGE Syd Barrett fan. I've played most of his songs in my various bands and he's another huge influence on my playing. Recognize this fellow?
  17. In the spirit of Comic Book Guy. Keanu Reeves... worst actor... EVER. :rsmile:
  18. Yikes! Make the scary woman go away...
  19. If you love jazz, then welcome!
  20. Maybe Wolfie pulled out the Ouija board and consulted with Sonny Bono. That would make more sense.
  21. That's too bad. He had to have been a WEIRD cat. Was he obnoxious like this guy?
  22. Congratulations Dan! This couldn't have gone to a more appropriate person. Enjoy!
  23. I hope you all return. Your absence is the board's loss. Either way, my best wishes to all of you. Jim's right, the door is always open. Warm "welcome backs" are a nice thing.
