Org Board Malfunction (aka) I Did Not Ignore YOU

this happened to me today too...52 emails in a row Marcus -
i dunno what to say about the final game but based on my previous experience with Luiz Felipe Scolari, Portugal will clinch the title. UEFA should think seriously where all this "business football" is taking European Football. this Euro2004 is at the same ridiculous level of the WC2002. Marcus

Happy Birthday my dear friend!!!

i think they are the best team too and most overall they WANT to win this competition the 2nd goal was superb my bets for the semifinals: portugal x netherlands = portugal...but i will support netherlands.... rep.czech x greece = rep.czech hopefully we´ll have some attacking football on both games Marcus

Nate, email sent!

Merci mon cher Claude the truth is (and it has been said here before), the life of a french fanatic on football is based on disappointments. i was almost sure that whe had left in the last century our incredible capacity to loose stupid football games...i was wrong.... it is time now to rebuild the national squad as the qualiyings for WC2006 are coming very fast. my only wish now for the Euro2004 is to not have Portugal as the champions. i think we will have a delightful game today and it's 50-50 for both teams. Marcus ps: everybody knows that my english is poor so i apologize for my "british" mistake

once again the british team failed on penalties. once again they didn't beat Felipe Scolari....gosh!!!!! portugal deserved to win and i can see them on the final game tomorrow it´s gonna be a hard game and we'll suffer a lot but i think we´ll be on the semifinals. ALLEZ LES BLEUS!!!!!

based on Jim's recommendation i got her album "Inventions" and i´m still enjoying it a lot!!! Marcus

thinking about the quarter-finals i have my bets but they don't necessarily are my wishes. portugal x england = portugal (but i'll be praying for a british victory!!!) france x greece = france (but i´m gonna suffer.....) sweden x holland = sweden (even if i love the dutch team and their attacking mentality) czech republic x denmark = czech republic the best teams so far on the competition and it´s gonna be hard for Nedved & Co but i have a strong feeling that they are mentally prepared to be champions. Germany, Italy and Spain should re-think their culture stopping this massive importation of foreign players specially on key positions. this is their major problem. Marcus
-
not at all!!! i love your country and the italian people. on the football side, Italy is the opposite of my understanding about this sport. they play defensively all the time and i hate this. maybe Marcelo Lippi will change my point of view Marcus

i do remember this one but we were so confident that we were already qualified that we didn't care that much to loose this one. sadly, it was a key moment for the disaster. i think Gerard Houllier wasn't prepared to be the coach at that time and the players were not that impressive. the disaster of 1993 forged our triumphs on the following years. Marcus

yeah brownie, you are right. if the referee did what he was supposed to, Rumenigge would never participated on that match and we'd probably be on the final. on the WC 1986 i was convinced that we have reached the peak of our powers in 1984. if this WC was in Europe and Platini wasn't injured we would have been champions. you are right again about Henri Michel. this jerk made me suffer a lot specially on that draw against Cyprus in 1987... the match against Brazil was superb and both teams lost many many chances to finish the match. i will always remember the following day of the match when i went to school with my French jersey and collected the money from my bet against 55 schoolmates. to loose again the ticket for the final against Germany was sad but predictable as we were very tired and that team wasn't too strong mentally. anyway, it's my favorite team ever with that wonderful midfield players. merci pour me rappeler ces moments delicieux brownie Marcus

European Board Members Meeting
marcoliv replied to rockefeller center's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
this is a nice idea even if i can't be there with you guys!!! MCO -
the game was played with intensity so there's nothing to claim. it´s a pity that Italy scored their second goal so now they have something or someone to blame.... MCO

Eke, i can understand your rage but as a french maniac i want my team to win playing with passion and if possible playing well. it's true that this was the worst season of Raul and once again he was unable to conduct Spain to a respectable position on this Euro. i´m having the same feeling with Henry. he played nothing on WC2002 and he's not playing seriously on this Euro... i really think that Spain should review/limit their importation of foreign players. Italy and Germany are facing off serious problems with their national teams too. this was very similiar with France when they renewed Lemerre's contract before the WC2002 and after the disaster he was sacked. i think Saez should leave his job. Eke, i wish you better luck on WC2006!! Marcus

Marcus, just remember the French disaster at the 2002 World Cup when the team that won the 1998 Cup was out by the first round without having scored a single goal! As for Silvestre, he is not that bad a player but after helping the opposite teams score in each of the three first first matches he played, he should be out of the Bleus for the duration! And Santini has announced just before the start of Euro2004 that he would no longer be the team coach right after the French last match in the tournament. He will head for Tottenham next season. Santini is the latest in a succession of inept coaches. We have not had a decent coach since Michel Hidalgo. Aime Jaquet was just lucky to have the top players available. At least he made good use of them. Then Roger Lemerre was a disaster.

for me the best teams so far we´ll meet on Sunday. i´m soooo happy that Italy is out of the competition Tomasson's goal is the most beautiful of the tournament so far. he is a nice player who's gonna be qualified tomorrow? holland or germany? i don't think Latvia can reach the quarter-finals. Marcus
-
i´m so pissed off against the french team... how can we play so bad on a major tournament!!???!!!!! what the hell is Silvestre doing on the french team?? is Santini stupid or what?? the players can't be tired as they're not running at all during the games. they are not playing with energy, professionalism and deserving to win the competition.... we are going to play against Greece and we can't say we'll win the game...DAMN!!! i hope the british team will knock-out the portuguese one and that tomorrow Italy will be sent back to home. allez les bleus Marcus

Nate, count me in pleeeeeaze!!! Marcus

you are right Dan. i really like what the young lions did. i think they can play well, they have control of their instrument but they don't take risks. anyway, i really like to hear them playing. my major concern about them and their albums is that they are usually composed by original compositions and some well-known standards. great, i don't mind to hear My Funny Valentine one more time but my major problem is why they don't record tunes from other young lions?? a standard only becomes a standard if it´s played/recorded several times. a tune like Chan's Song IMHO could be a potential standard but how many recordings do you know of this song? even if i didn't liked Herbie's "The New Standards" album i should praise his attitude. picking one song from the Harper Brothers album, Remembrance could easily become a standard too. just my 2 cents Marcus Oliveira
