  1. I just developed a new found respect for T Bone walker! As you can see I'm only pulling a "half-bone" as we call it, and I nearly split my pants and fell over trying to get up, nearly crushing my guitar!! T Bone, you da MAN!
  2. ...And here I am playing in my favorite pose with my new Cort M800
  3. Here's me practicing (wrestling) with my Broadway.
  4. OK Jazzboy, IT'S GO TIME!! Next time I'm in Michigan, you'd better be scarce! Or better yet, I'll just hire Randy to kick your ass! Drummers are always tough and they have sticks and stuff. Randy, I just PM'd you! (you're in trouble now Joe, I warned you!)
  5. Are those the flatwound 11s?
  6. I don't like the boomers AT ALL but I like the Nickle rockers and if you say that they suck again we're gonna have a problem. More specifically, YOU are going to have a problem! (that's the great thing about the internet, I can play the tough guy because Michigan is a long way from me Although sizewise I think we may be pretty good matchup.)
  7. I was going to ask the string question as well. I was looking last night at musicians friend at the flatwound strings they had. I can't find flatwound strings where I live so I'll have to order them. Will probably put 12s in the Broadway and 11s in the Cort. My standard string are GHS nickle rockers. I like their mellow tone, even the wound stings are smooth right out of the box. D'Addarios always seemed to bright for a while. I used to keep the wound strings and only replace the others to avoid the breakin period.
  8. He's good.... real good!
  9. Can I ask an amp question here or should we start an amp thread? Has anyone played the little Peavey Classic 30 amp? I have a Classic 50 410 and like it alot. Very versatile. good clean sound, nice "growl" as well. It's too big. I would like to have a smaller, more portable amp but don't want to give up that good sound. How does the Classic 30 compare to the "big boys?" (I have played through a 212 model as well.)
  10. Easy big fella. You go around saying you want to caress the FATBOY and your gonna find yourself in some STRANGE situations!
  11. I understood the first question quite clearly.
  12. My subliminal power of suggestion is working again! The bidders on EBAY have already met my reserve for the LES PAUL in the first day of bidding, while similar guitars sit without bids.
  13. LES PAUL
  14. I just listed my Les Paul On EBAY. My dnaelectro Dirty Thirty auction is about to end in about 15 min!!!!
  15. I knew you could!! I thought Ron's little "I bought the last Alleykat" ploy might scare you into a commitment. Guitars sold = 3 Continue following this thread at your own risk!
  16. It's working on myself. For 50 cents a day everyone should have one, or TWO! You could sell one for $100 profit cutting your costs further still. Shipping is FREE, no taxes. This is a NO BRAINER!!!
  17. Joe, you gotta be more subtle. "Sure the disc is $15, shipping and handling is $285" 50 cents a day Joe, 50 cents a day!
  18. We ought to keep track of how much gear this thread sells. There's already two guitars bought and I bet Joe caves on this Epiphone Alleykat. If this board does for my guitar buying what it did for my CD buying I'll be in BIG trouble.
  19. Are you kidding? You can finance that thing for $15 a month. 50 cents a day! That's a COKE for God's sake!
  20. Worse case scenario, you don't like it and sell in on Ebay for a profit. All the listings there are $399. I'm thinking about getting one just to sell myself and make $100!
  21. When I was initially looking for a jazz guitar I passed on these because they weren't full size which is EXACTLY why I would pick this up if I needed one. My Broadway is just too big for me to paly comfortably for very long. I didn't realize these things were loaded with such nice hardware. Gibson pickups and Grover tuners. Like one reviewer said, That alone is $250 bucks and you're getting the rest of the guitar for $50.
  22. I don't think you should quit music altogether. Maybe just reevaluate the situations that are causing the problems. (a certain gig, a certain bandmember, a certain songlist etc)
  23. I think that's a good point. No matter what the activity, if it's causing more harm than good, you should reevaluate. I had a similar situation with tennis. I grew up playing quite a bit. It was something I did with my dad. He took the role of coach. In late high school I realized tennis was a great source of frustration in my life and also the coach - athlete relationship was interfering with the father - son relationship. It was one of those things that I did because I had always done it. When I quit, I didn't miss it and my father and I became much closer.
  24. My LAUNDRY LOAD you perv!
