I only have a couple of these titles so I'm looking forward to a lot of new music!

What!!! No FREEP? If the next batch of RVGs doesn't include the FREEP, I'm going to set myself on FIRE!!

After a little more time to listen, the good news is my CDs sound great on this system as well. I have been without a good home system for a while and it's exciting to hear the music sound so great. It's like I suddenly have a whole new collection of discs to listen to!

Our home theater system was one I got free for buying a TV so you can imagine it wasn't very good. We finally got frustrated with it and decided to upgrade. I decided to get one of the Yamaha systems which also plays SACDs. I then ordered several SACD hybrids from yourmusic.com before they were deleted. The system came in the mail this week and all I can say is WOW! The music really comes alive! It makes CD versions sound absolutely flat and dead. I upgraded Lush Life, Tenor Madness, Relaxin' and Jazz at Massey Hall and they all sound great. I really don't intend to upgrade my whole collection to SACD but what titles are MUST HAVE SACDs for their sonic superiority? I also got Layla just for kicks and it sounds better than the CD versioin but true beauty of SACDs to me is hearing the warmth of the horns. Bird and Dizzy, Trane and Sonny all sound like they are in the room with me!

You can't just treat fine couture like that! Tearing them right off the hanger! What kind of animal is he!

To me of all the results yesterday, the scariest was Italy 4 - Germany 1. Looks like the US is going to have beat the Czechs to get out of the group.

TOM CAT sounds great to me too! Better than the McMaster I remember. I always love a lineup with Curtis Fuller!

Still no disc...

Anyone else not received their CDUniverse shipment yet? Most of the time I get the disc on Wednesday after release or at the latest Thursday. If I don't get them today I'm going to get very nervous that the shipment has been lost!

On a less serious note, anyone see the new uniforms for the WC? Poor Netherlands. That is a hideous shirt. The adidas uniforms look OK but Nike has apparently gone retro with not so great results. THe US kits look OK I think, but some of the others look pretty drab. Look HERE

I saw the game and saw it exactly as you did. Really good showing for our "JV team" as one columnist put it. I thought Olsen also was the man of the match but agree we're just too strong in that position for him to go to Germany. Pope and Conrad really looked tough back there. Even when the others made mistakes, those two had their backs. Overall I was pleased to see that team score 4 without the likes of McBride, Donavan, Beasley, Dempsey and Twellman. I think the matches in Germany against Poland and Germany will be a great warmup and we should have our full squad there. I heard Totti had a pretty serious injury and could be out for an extended period of time. Will probably be back for the World Cup but you never know if he'll be 100%.

How about Tulsa, Fayetteville (AR), Little Rock or Kansas City?

I just rechecked and LUSH LIFE SACD an JAZZ AT MASSEY HALL SACD are on the way out as well as RELAXIN' SACD Most of these are upgrades for me so it's not that big a deal but I would like to pick up some cheap SACDs

Wow! I just goy about 10 emails telling me that various titles in my queue will not be available when scheduled to ship. Looks like just about all the SACD hybrids. I better go ahead and pull the trigger since I'm about to get a SACD player.

This may be a long shot, but... Does anybody recognize the routing for the bridge on my blue flame guitar? I believe it to be a Charvel by Jackson body and assume it had a Floyd Rose trem but from pics off the internet and catalogs none of the models seem to have this routing pattern. I think there is a low profile Floyd Rose trem that Jackson makes, and I suspect this is the one. I think I've just about decided to build the guitar instead of just selling the body.

I picked up LIVE AT STUBB'S this weekend having heard some buzz about this guy. HERE is his website. Check the video samples. It's a bit strange to put sights and sounds together but he got skillz.

What does the JRVG of Gigolo sound like (if their was one)? Is the US RVG the same master? I thought Blue Note and RVG were going to start using the Japanese masters instead of redoing them.

I don't know, I have been without my McMaster copy for some time and have only had my CDR of it for the car to listen to.

USA 3 - Japan 2 As a whole the US looked strong. After about 5 minutes they took control and essentially had Japan pinned in the box for the next hour. The Japanese keeper robbed them of a couple more as well. In the past I've seen Asian teams give the US trouble with their quickness but the US handled it well tonight. At the end Japan was starting to come on. Their subs provided a spark ours couldn't counter. Twellman with a goal and 2 assists. This is just what the US needs. I disagree with Balboa on this one. I think you could play Twellman up top along with McBride. Yes they are both target players but they both bring so much more to the attack. At Fulham since Helguson joined McBride up top they have been giving defenses fits, including Chelsea's. If Bruce ain't thinking about that combo, he should be. Wolff, same song second verse. Yes, he's fast and can occasionally provide a good ball in but his skill and finishing are just not up to par. How many times did the announcer say "...and Wolff is unable to bring that one in." or "... that one just got away from Wolff." I would send Noonan to Germany as a forward before I sent Wolff. Noonan had a good game. He's versatile, played some good D tonight. I take him to Germany. Dempsey had another great game. Dunivant played very well and could be the answer at left back. Klein struggled a bit, new position, understandable. I like the way the team is playing. Nice ball control, good team speed, good team defense even from the forwards, variety in attack, lots of different guys scoring goals.

After Al's observation about the Gigolo, I went back and A/B'd them in my car, on my home system, on my computer, even on my jam box. I hear what Al is talking about. Overall I think the recording is improved. The piano and bass are much clearer and can be heard through the mix. The sax is right up front but when Lee plays he's not as forward in the mix as on the McMaster and when you expect him to jump in and blow you away he doesn't. Lee is on the left channel and Wayne is on the right. If you alter the balance a little to the left suddenly Lee sounds a little more prominent. Maybe McMaster did this to bring Lee up front a little more and Rudy decided not to for whatever reason (I mean it is Lee's date!) I would prefer RVGs clarity with McMaster's balance.

That's what it sounds like to me! Could you "tweak" The Freap for me?
