Lane is often reliably solid though I found this one uninteresting myself. I really enjoy the new CF trio he's on with Mark Whitecage and Lou Grassi, and the CIMP recordings with Vijay Anderson and Vinny Golia are also nice. Also the orchestra New Magical Kingdom (CF) and in the Mat Marucci/Markus Berger Ensemble (Cadence Jazz). Saw him live in the band he had with John Tchicai, Barry Altschul and Paul Smoker - excellent, as is their CIMP disc, Four Beings. Guess that about covers it...

I'm mostly familiar with the works he did in collaboration with Fernando Grillo. Nice!

Unless the takes on this acetate are very different from the commercial issue, I don't understand the point of buying this. Guess I'm not a real "collector" then...

Dig the Kenneth Noland paintings on the covers. I heard the 1st disc, wasn't too impressed at the time (Mehldau) but would be into checking it out again.

Bought it on LK's recommendation a while back. It is excellent indeed.
